This is a BIG shot in the dark....but, i was wondering if anyone had any advice on getting some fingerprints and criminal checks from Korea to the FBI for an American citizen here (for his immigration application to Canada). What a *bleeping* headache! We just got fingerprints from our local police station here in Suwon, and apparently since they are in Korean, that'll be no good for the ole FBI. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Why not try a certified translator?

I just sent my wife's fingerprints to Australia for her Canadian Immigration visa. The Korean police did the prints no problem. I translated the card myself. It says name, left hand, left thumb, left hand first finger etc. Pretty simple. The Aussies had no problem with my translation. I just wrote the words in English underneath the Korean on the card.

My boyfriend went to the American Embassy in Seoul yesterday. They said the FBI probably would not accept an official translation, that we would have to get the official FBI fingerprint "paper" to send with his fingerprints. We need to contact the FBI in the USA, which is seems rather difficult from here, since the only phone number I can find is an automated one, leading to their website.
Thanks for your feedback Smile
