I used to be a supporter of PETA thinking they were reasonable folks. But I think they're losing their audience nowadays by acting like extremists. The accusations they made about Steve Irwin were ridiculous.

Maybe soon they'll turn into terrorists. It won't be safe to eat a hamburger at Mcd's or walk into a pet store.

Ya, I like what they stand for, but they are at the very least run by idiots. Possibly they are all, but I can't generalize without really knowing them.

No, but his fans are killing rays in revenge, not kidding.

Australian Stingrays Killed After Steve Irwin's Death (Update2)

By Ed Johnson

Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) -- ``Crocodile Hunter'' Steve Irwin's manager appealed to fans not to seek revenge against stingrays, as authorities investigate a spate of killings since the television star was fatally struck by one of the sea creatures.

``To hear that people are actually going out and killing stingrays and cutting off their tails is barbaric,'' said John Stainton, in an interview with Australian Broadcasting Corp. radio today. ``I can understand that some people probably are doing this out of vengeance, but they should not.''

At least 10 stingrays have washed up on beaches in Australia's Queensland state with their tails cut off since Irwin died on Sept. 4, Queensland's Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries said in a statement yesterday. Animal welfare officers are investigating, the department's General Manager Rick Symons said.

I wonder how is wife is taking it? Obviously, horribly, but I wonder if she had thought about his death before hand, or if this is still be a massive surprise (a death is almost always a surprise). Either way, anyone passing away with such young children is always a tragedy.

Dear 4 Wheel Drive Hardware Customer,

As you know, some things in life happen unexpectedly that are out of the realm of anyones control. These events can sometimes cause a ripple effect that touches a large group of people.

As you may be aware, Steve Irwin, Crocodile Hunter, passed away tragically on September 4, 2006. Steves exuberant style and love for what he did made him stand out as one of the most colorful and world-recognized conservationists of our time.

Because of his popularity, 4 Wheel Drive Hardware chose to parody a likeness of Steve as our spokesperson for finding Jeeps in the Wild on the cover of our recent Fall Jeep Catalog.

Unfortunately, the catalogs that portrayed his likeness were mailed on Friday, September 1st, leaving no time to avoid distribution of our Jeep Hunter cover.

We sincerely hope that the family and fans of Steve Irwin will see this parody as a tribute to Steve and the millions of people whose lives he touched.

Wed also like to take this opportunity to extend to Steves wife, Terri and their two children, Bindi Sue and Robert, our deepest sympathies during this very difficult time.

Sincerely,
4 Wheel Drive Hardware
