|
|
I've just heard that there will be a long national holiday next month including National Government Establishment day and Korean Thanksgiving days which is almost a week off during first week of next month.
I've also been told that most of business are closed during those holidays. So what are some things there to do in Korea? If not in Korea, what are your plans? |

getting stuck in traffic for 12 hours when it should be a 4 hour drive. Been married six years and this is the first time we'll be doing the chusok holiday treck to the parents. |

That's why I use the train. Couldn't be bothered with driving and you can have some beer on the train to make that first bow much more enjoyable. |

Last year my friend got stuck in traffic. Eight hours into the 30km drive out of the city he turned around having only reached the 20km mark |

Newbies travel (in Korea). Oldies stay home and organize a local party!!
For those of you leaving the country for the holiday, plan on AT LEAST double the time to get to the airport AND back!!! |

I'm hoping to get a lot of studying done. I've been working so much lately that I haven't had any time to learn. If the weather stays this way, I'm looking forward to long days in a Mokdong park with my book, electronic dictionary, cigarettes and coffee. |

the train is not an option with an infant and a 4 year old. There's too much to carry with you. Also if we take the train, then when we stop we have to take a bus and after the bus a country taxi out to the rice paddies. |

Best time of the year to enjoy Seoul. Trying to get anywhere else, whether in Korea or abroad, is kind of a waste of time, especially for just a few days. If you're booked, good luck. If you're not, stay in Seoul or where ever you are. |

Probably coming up to Seoul/Gyeonggi from the boonies for a few days. I, too, should get some studying done, and so I should enjoy the peace and quiet, but I don't think I can stick around this one-horse town alone for 8 days. |
