Hi there, i just came into Yangju, South Korea and really really need a voltage converter for my electrical products i brought from the US. i need help with this definetely. i did buy a small one that's for travelling but it's only for small electric appliances...and silly me tried plugging an electrical strip to it so i can get some power in my room. but nope, not strong enough. i'm going to be using it for my laptop, alarm clock/ipod speaker, XBox/DVD player, and etc...so i need something that can suppot all these at one time. Any suggestion on where i can find them and the prices. i was thinking about calling the US Bases out here, but i can't seem to find the number. Let me know if someone can help. Thanks a lot.

Just about any large department store will have the large voltage converters (240v down to 110v). Home plus, E-mart. Lotte Department store, maybe even a Lotte Mart if they are big enough to have an electrical/appliance section.
You can also check with hi-mart. They SOMETIMES have them in stock. They are a little more expensive than the department stores.
Your laptop should be able to use line current without problem. Check on the brick. If it says "input 110-240v" then it is fine and just needs a plug adapter.
Unless you have a friend on the base, they (the stores on base) cannot sell you anything directly. You need a GI friend to buy it for you. |
