You are the one who doesnt get it. Did you not say that Korean men act in this way because koreans see themselves as one people? Did you not go on to say 'how would you feel if your sister was dating a middle easterner who smelled different and couldnt speak the language? Did you say those things? That is rationalization of korean behavior on your part.
I also accept the circumstances. I accept a lot of messed up things in Korea. That doesnt make them right.
Do you know what belongs means? This aspect of Korean culture has no place in a 21st century society. |

I would agree though that Korean men prefer younger women. That's not really a shock though as it is common around the world. |

That may be so, but allow me to reiterate that it is part of a 21st century society, and while your furious internet ramblings are effecting social change at breakneck speed, you may just have to learn to live with it for the time being. Or go somewhere else (that's what I did! - have you heard about living in the west? It's GREAT!)

You are the most pathetic type of apologist. Came to Korea, got himself a local girlfriend, got his peepee wet for the first time in ten years ( maybe ever). You feel so much gratitude for this you say " I dont know why foreigners knock korean society. My girlfriends parents accept me. You must be lonely and sad. Koreans have good reasons for their barbaric behavior."
Know this. When I think of my experience with women here, the word lonely doesnt enter into the picture. Try inundated and worn out. Hell, in a few cases I wish some Korean guy would have shamed the girl into not seeing me early on so I could have avoided the drama. I bet there is even a good chance I did your girlfriend before you got here. |

Love it or leave it? Is that the gist of your argument? I like Korea. Korea has been good to me. No Korean man has affected my relationships with Korean women in any way. I never had to learn to live with Korean society. Im not Korean. Even though I live here, I can look from afar and call it as I see it.
Does the fact that I have not been affected make their behavior any less repugnant. No. No.
I will continue to criticize things i dont like and praise things I do, even if I cant " Affect social change at breakneck speed." |

sigh... i don't even know why i'm in this argument. i don't know djsmnc from a hole in the ground, so i've got no reason to back him up, outside of the fact that he seemed to be a pretty nice guy with a solid strategy for handling situations that he is unable to change.
and i've got nothing against a good beej, except when it's one who throws around the word 'apologist' any chance he can get because it's the biggest word he knows and makes him sound all grown up and mature, and then follows it by 'i've shagged more k-girls than you!' |

I've been trying to figure that one out myself. Then again, I don't know why mindmetoo is still arguing with Rteacher about science and why I bothered in the boshintang thread. Sometimes you just can't believe someone actually believes something, and you hope they are just trolling. The scary thing is, I don't know if Beej is actually a troll or not. |

That's not true. There was a Hispanic hooker that my Mexican coworkers introduced me to back in '97. It was payday, and she was charging $30 a pop. That would make it five years. |
