Hey guys!!
Was wondering if anyone could get some advice. I intend to purchase a Canon Powershot S3 camera, i have been doing a bit of pricing around.
I live in Daegu and have been quoted prices from 350,000 - 370,000 for the s3, yet i have seen much better prices on the net.
I am thinking about visiting the electronics mart in Seoul.
Can anyone tell me how much i should expect to pay for the Canon Powershot s3 in Seoul is it really worth my while goin there??
Cheers!
REMEMBER! You're here for a good time not a long time! |

I don't think you'll find prices significantly cheaper in Seoul for that camera. I actually just picked that camera up (about 3 weeks ago) for 380,000 won at Yongsan. Yes, I may have been able to shave a few thousand won off the price, but that was the lowest price I was quoted and I'm not a bargainer. So, no, I don't think it would be worth your while to come up.
ps. Get a high-speed memory card if you intend on using the video function.
Edit: When I got mine, the net price was 370,000. I see now that it's 350,000. So, if you can get it for that price, I don't think you'll be able to do significantly better in Seoul. Do yourself a favor and research SD card prices though. |

| Namdaemoon has a camera mall that sells smuggled Japanese cameras for significantly lower prices. The downside is no one in Korea will honor the warranty. I saved $70 easily on my digital camera there. |

Yongsan does the same. They sell both versions of most cameras. The Korean version of my camera would have been about 50-60 thousand more expensive. |
