sofas are about 10-20% cheaper online. Also be sure to take measurements of the space where you're going to put the sofa so you don't buy one that is too damn large.

100,000 won for a sofa? Are sofas that cheap in Korea? You couldn't even get a used cushion for that price in Canada.

As many others have said.....DON'T DO IT!!!! I don't know if there is ONE thing I could surprise my wife with that would be acceptable. It's either the wrong colour or the design or size is no good. And, then you didn't make this decision together. How selfish. Selfish? Read on.

I know someone here who is dating a Korean princess. He's a big golf nut. One day he comes home. "Honey, we're going to New York." He's so happy. He has a chance of a lifetime to volunteer on a PGA stop in New York. Hotel/accomodations paid for. In addition their company is throwing in an extra grand. Good Lord! Her response. "You didn't even ask me. How selfish."

I reiterate. Don't do it. Go with her. Get her permission.

I've been sofa shopping with my wife (and damn it's the most romantic thing we've ever done!) for the past 10 days or so. prices range from around 250,000 to 9,000,0000 won. The bulk being in the 500,000-1,200,000 range.
