Whenever I turn on the T.V., I see all these Korean comedy movies and stand up shows. I understand very little Korean but they all seem to be really physical, zany, off the wall type comedy. The audience in these Korean comedy shows are always nearly on the floor with tears in their eyes because they're laughing so hard. I lived in France for a while when I was younger and the French loved this type of comedy as well. Jerry Lewis is a huge star there. I'm just wondering if this is the type of comedy the Koreans really go for. I'm thinking it is as a number of the teachers at my school love Jim Carrey and his comedy. Anyway, just curious.

Most of the audience are audience regulars (some aren't) who are there only because they give the reaction that the director wants (not unlike the 'laugh', 'clap' lights from the old shows coming out of Hollywood).

Actually, I don't know enough about Korean porn. Although, I'd be pretty concerned if I laughed at it. Laughing

Really!? You're talking about those "live" comedy-festival type shows? Man , they must be pretty good actors. It looks pretty authentic on T.V..

Maybe. If you mean the ones that are done in a studio at KBS or MBC, yes, I mean those.

I only see 2 kinds of Korean comedies on TV - either a same set of 4-5 women in various game shows, or a trio of men dressng up like women. Are there sitcoms as well? I haven't noticed any.
