I have been recommending posters to go to dashing diva in coex for waxing. However the girl that did an excellent job has left. I tried another girl and my skin is still red and painful from the job she did on my eyebrows 24 hours ago.

So dashing diva is now off CLG's christmas card list.

There shall be no waxing in Korea. I was taking a trip to Thailand and thought a bikini wax would be a good idea. I scoured every beauty shop in my neighborhood and they either didn't offer waxing at all or for some inexplicable reason did not offer bikini waxing. One shop had a sign that clearly said closing time was 10 p.m. and at 9 p.m I was told it was too late for a wax. WTF? Do women not wax here?

No, they don't wax here, unless they have lived abroad.

it also has to do with having very little hair. Have you seen their legs. I don't wax the tops of my legs simply because the hair is ver fine and hardly noticable....howeever, korean ladies dont' usully shave or wax at all......because they don't need to. Same with underarms. Personally, if it was comfortable for me.....I wouldn't shave or wax either....but lets just say its necessary.

Judging from porn, I'd say that Koreans women are hairy in the nether region and should wax.

Judging from going to saunas filled with naked women, I'd say that Koreans already look like they've done a bikini wax and it's all natural.

hair is just considered a natural thing here. shame on us for deciding that it is necessary for them to shave or wax.

The last time I was in the sauna, I overheard this conversation:
"Oh, look! Foreigners grow short hair there??
No, foreigners shave their hair there..."
No, ladies, you don't leave me paranoid at all that you are staring at my genitals in the sauna...

I suspect public bath culture and generally not being afraid of being naked around your mother and sisters contributes to things like no shaving. It's like tattoos. That's changing a lot, but generally tattoos were considered a sign you were a gangster. Shaving and waxing might, at best, get you stares by the ajummas, at worst brand you as some kind of working lady or woman of loose morals.

C'mon, it's not just a Korean attitude. My mommy told me only porn stars, pro wrestlers & prossies get bikini waxings. I guess she missed that one episode of Sex & the City.

Was that the tone of the thread? Koreans should be shaving and waxing?

A lot of Korean women watch that show because they like to check out the fashions and how the women decorate their apartments. But then there's the sex stuff that goes over a lot of their heads. Ever have a Korean woman try to get you to clarify some of the stuff they talk about?

As my gym is attached to a bathhouse, and because it's usually pretty busy when I'm in there post-workout, I find myself going a bit longer between trims.

It's like being "really naked" in a roomfull of "semi naked" ladies wearing merkins.

And those damned little towels are too small to successfully wrap around the waist.
