I've gotten my shots, passport, sealed transcripts, etc. Now I'm ready to submit my resume, cover letter, and picture to a recruiter.

So could anyone recommend some mid-sized cities?

I'm not trying to narrow my selection. In fact, I'm trying to broaden it. I figure that the more cities that I'm willing to move to, the easier it will be to find a job.

Here's what I have so far.

1. Chuncheon
2. Yeosu
3. Changwon
4. Gangneung
5. Masan
6. Cheongju
7. Jinju

If you can think of any good cities to live in that's under a million in population, I'd appreciate it. Or if you wouldn't recommend one of the cities that I have written down, let me know why.

Masan stinks, literally, with the economic free zone manufacturing. The city has no saving graces.

And in all my travels I've only been pointed at unabashedly four times, and three of them was in Masan. Everytime I spend some time in that city some new oddball acts like I'm a Martian with four heads.

Any other city in the province except Masan. Believe me.

Cheongju is cool if you like big(ish) cities that have a small town feel. I think the population hovers around 700,000, but it hardly feels that size. Also relativly handy to Seoul as you can jump on a bus and be at the express buss terminal in Seoul in about 80 mins.

That's a pretty diverse range of cities, about the only thing they have in common is that they are smaller cities. I'm not sure why you're compiling a "list" of cities, but it seems to me that you're willing to live in a midsized city here.

If there's one that particularly appeals to you why not just go there, check out the city for yourself, and search for a job there. That way you'd get a better job and feel more comfortable with both the job and the city you're in.

Otherwise, just go for the best job you can and don't sweat the location. A great job in a crap location is much better than vice-versa.

i like cheongju, and i was just in chuncheon the other day. i found it to be nice, small-town-y, but it's only about 2 hours away from seoul on the train if you want to whoop it up for a weekend.
