Just wanted to know how their policy/coverage is; if anyone has had any experiences - positive or negative - about them.

It is one of the insurers possible for the policy being offered at the school.

I already know about, and highly recommend, the National Health Plan for everyone eligible. But, we have some people who ONLY want to pay for basic health coverage.

Regards,

				| This probably doesn't help, but in the U.S., they are making a good name for themselves by undercutting the other big name insurance agents and offering basically the same coverage. This is in regards to automotive insurance, so like I said, this probably doesn't help. |

I tried AIG (American) Insurance located here in seoul.......

http://www.aiggeneral.co.kr/english/company/ppf.jsp

they also seem ONLY to offer automobile, personal property and person liability insurance to foreigners.......

I got the message from them - that they DO NOT offer foreigners health/medical insurance - only Korean people........ |

I and my wife both have Life Insurance through AIG. I'm foreign, shes Korean. We were both offered health insurance through AIG but we didn't need it.

I've been very happy with their sales, service and professionalism. |

				Yesterday - not true.

I have insurance with them. I am not Korean.

My uncle's been working for AIG since the late 1980s in Hong Kong and he is still there. I believe he is now the regional manager or something big like that.

Anyway, I recommend AIG without hesitation. |

Excellent - then how do I get the insurance?

Last time I checked their web site and emailed them - they gave me that answer - no medical/health for foreigners....

can you recommend me a telephone number to phone or an office to visit on the East side of Seoul (near Jamsil?)...

I almost just signed up for Samsung "tourist visa" which must be renewed only once per year and is pretty cheap - but ONLY covers up to 10,000,000 won in hospital fees in the case of an accident....

so I am still interested in a BETTER insurer if you can help me get the insurance (information) from them....... |

I believe I've read that you are married to a Korean. AIG may have different rules for F2 visa holders. I am here on an E2 and my employer is trying to set me up with medical coverage from AIG and has run into problems. Not sure where I stand right now.... |

I am actually going to the AIG office tomorrow to get my auto insurance through them. Its about $100 cheaper than LG. This is the office phone number. Maybe health insurance is only for koreans or f-2 holders. Give them a call. 031-668-8494 The gentleman speaks very good english. |
