Harlem in Hongdae plays American hiphop/rap. Read through the recent forums about anti-foreigner attitudes at clubs to get a good idea about it. I, however, had no problem when I was there dancing with a Korean girl. I did get stared at/mad dogged (the evil eye), but I just kept staring in the hot foxes eyes and said fk it.

You are right about M2 (think house, think techno), but that is downstairs. The club upstairs that I can never remember the name of is most certainly a Hip Hop club and it is usually packed. From memory it has a 10,000 won cover charge. I haven't seen MC's there but the DJ's have some skills.

the place below m2 mainly plays party r'n'b/hip hop, quite predictable selections but a huge improvement on the dreadful m2

I think you've got your upside downs the wrong way up. Unless there is a downstairs below the downstairs that I am unaware of?

Otherwise...I very much agree with what you said.

Please...do tell. I'd love to hear some of this acceptable house. I always end up jaded upon leaving M2.
Where is this basement?
