Anyone figure out what triggers a free Starbucks mug lately? Now, Starbucks has these semi-random give aways of cool stuff. All those 50 won coins you don't claim back for your take out mug actually get accounted for and returned in the form of free stuff for customers.
My girlfriend seems to think if you get a paper cup and then return the cup, you get a glass mug. I've gotten three so far and I never get a paper cup. I dunno.
(And they make great gifts for that well-behaved, studious middle schoolers.) |

I don't know about the mugs but...........Starbucks Rules!! Killer good coffee and great service, as well. I'm not surprised they market like this. They know how to run a business. |

Currently, if you go to Starbucks before 12 and turn in a paper cup (could be from anywhere, mine wasn't a Starbucks cup), while supplies last, you get a free mug. And the 50 won. The one they're giving out now says 'thanks for choosing to help save our environment' on the box. So hit up Starbucks for a free mug while they still got 'em.
12 noon that is. |

That's right....if you turn in a paper cup before noon or if you already are using a thermos for your order, you get a free ceramic cup. They're giving away 100,000 altogether. |

yeah they "really" rule $6.00 CDN for a cup of coffee. they do know how to run a business with so many suckers willing to pay it! Korea's Starbucks is even more expensive than Japan's, go figure.
when they give stuff away, people think its great, not realizing that you proabable paid for it ten times over.
starbucks a complete RIP!
people will pay over $5 for a cup of coffee, but complain about the price of gas. |

Yeah, but unlike the Pacific Northwest, where there are dozens of independent coffeeshops that serve a better product for cheaper, Starbucks and Coffee Bean seem to be the only place that you can get a decent cup of coffee that isn't watered down crap. Most of the smaller shops will save the previous days' coffee and mix it with the next batch they brew. In the States, I never even bothered to go to Starbucks, but here it makes life a little easier. |

I suppose the ceramic mugs are free if you put the one in which your coffee came in your bag and walk out with them. Not sure why anyone would want one of these mugs, but if you really do want one... |

oh they are not limited in use - just all that mixed cinno atte crap sucks. Coffee cake and chocolate covered coffee beans are just 2 possiblities to expand the use of coffee beans in the correct direction. |

Starbucks is great and sometimes they'll just give you something really good if you're a regular customer. The best thing I got from Starbucks were two tickets to Miss Saigon which were worth 70,000 won each. That wasn't an official promotion though.
That reminds me I still have to phone Starbucks and report that manager of the Starbucks I went to last week that was an ass. "I'm going for a walk now, do you know where north is?" Manager walks over, "Please don't talk to the employees, it makes them uncomfortable." Worst manager ever. He's getting an earful. |

Translation, god loves you more?
First, a tall coffee is $3. $6 is a vente frappuccino. Surely $3 is more than the $2 you pay in North America, but, c'mon. Ever try to buy cheese here? Or Guinness? Imported products cost more. Surprise.
Now, koreaking, could you point me to a local Korean coffee chain that brews a cuppa joe for less and doesn't taste like dishwater and has nice bathrooms and you can read the IHT for free and has many convenient locations?
