This Friday (the 22nd) there is going to be a fundraiser to support the Mongolian's Women's Shelter. The fundraiser is going to be at the Rocky Mountain Tavern in Itaewon from 6pm until ??. The fundraiser is being put on by Korea Women's Hotline, a volunteer organization that works to stop domestic abuse in Korea. They also help out people in other Asian countries.

At the fundraiser on Friday, there will be a raffle. Prizes include: half the money raised by the raffle, a steak dinner and products from The Face Shop. Raffle tickets will be cheap: 2,000 won each or 3 for 5,000 won. The raffle drawing will be held at 10:30pm. You do NOT need to be present to win, stop in anytime.

There will also be a clothing drive. Drop off any clothes you don't need to the Rocky Mountain Tavern anytime this week, or bring them on Friday night.

On Saturday, the clothing will be sold at the Flea Market at The Beautiful Store from 12:00-16:00 (TTukseom Yuwonji Station, Line 7, Exit 2 or 3). All money will, of course, go the Mongolian Women's Shelter.

The Rocky Mountain Tavern is in Itaewon (Line 6). Take Exit 3. Walk until you see a totem pole on the right side of the street at the entrance to the tavern. The Rocky Mountain Tavern is on the 2nd floor. They serve food and drinks like all good taverns should. Their happy hour is from 6-8pm.

Volunteers will be wearing red and information will be easy to identify.
Come get your drink on and help out those less fortunate than you. Tell your friends, neighbors and co-workers. Get some good Karma on your side and some good beer in your belly.

I'm replying to my own post to keep it alive. It's not vanity, it's for the poor Mongolians.

I may be there, depending on my schedule. I saw the article in the newspaper about it.

It's in Korean. A friend translated the important parts and passed the article on to me.

I still have the article. It has a nice color photo. If you PM me your address, I'll stick it in the mail to you. I'm interested in knowing more about the group/project but still uncertain about whether I'll be able to make it tomorrow.
