Shpongle Vibrasphere by Infected Mushroom? WTF? Is it Infected Mushroom doing covers of Shpongle and Vibrasphere? That could be scary.

I've seen two of the above psy-pants names live and they were alright.

If you're after a psy fix...Son Kite are one of the better groups out there in my opinion...Better under the name Minilogue which is a bit more progressive and house based. They were great live outdoors at 8 in the morning...really knew how to push the dancefloor and the freaks sprawled out on the grass/in the dirt. They've got some sets on their website.

If you are into Shpongle than I'd say check out Ott whose music is quite similar but I prefer. Simon Posford has played quite a few of Ott's tracks in the Shpongle shows I've witnessed.

I personally don't really find that psy and/or goa works very well outside the context of the party is played in.

If you're after other non-pants related electronic gear then I'd maybe recommend some mixes by Ricardo Villalobos who is more on the minimal techno/house tip. His Mix with Ritchie Hawtin recorded from the Tresor closing party is 5 hours of greatness.Ritchie Hawtin puts out good mixes as well. If you like that sort of thing then maybe the Wighomy Brothers and Troy Pierce might float your boat...Ubercoolische.

For a long while there I was enjoying mixes by the guys from the Kompakt, Perlon and Playhouse labels. Michael Mayer, Superpitcher, Pantytec etc.

Basswarp.com often has good mixes in the electro and smoked out dub range.

Headspace mixes have been good in the past.

Andrea Parker has done some good dark electro mixes as have Cultek.

ADJ has done some phenomenal mixes.

Mathew Jonson and Claro Intellecto are other good artists who put out some good mixes.

I've also always liked any mixes done by Andrew Weatherall, Keith Teniswood etc. Anything coming out of Rotters Golf Club Really.

Schematic, Warp and Planet Mu are good for synthetic sounding stuff.

Dub-step and grime mixes are packing a punch lately as well.

Luke Vibert's latest mixes have been fun...Old Skool style...his acid disco mixes are good as well.

I could give you a lot more specific recommendations but electronic is a very broad category. Any more names of what you like?

I usually go to this website:

http://goapeaboutaudio.blogspot.com/

You have to click on the little sphincters...err...I mean asterisks (*) to either get the download directly as an MP3, or be routed to rapidshare, which I hate, but there's a lot of good stuff; hip hop, trance, house, drum and bass, reggae, rock, etc...
