Looks like that could be where I spend my next year in Korea. What's it like?
And before I get jumped on for not using the search function or checking the FAQs: I did and they weren't helpful. |

Anyang is nice. I spent a year there. It's very modern and only about 30-40 minutes to Seoul. There are lots of comfortable buses and it is on the subway line, too. You'll find plenty to do, lots of western restaurants, Walmart and other large shopping places. The air is a bit nicer than Seoul too.
You will find a good community of westerners living there.
The areas around Bumgye and Pyoungchon are quite nice.
Good luck. |

Awesome!
Anyone on this board currently there? Is it still a good crowd?
I searched for Anyang but found almost nothing. |

I live in Anyang....Gwanak station to be exact....it is like one subway stop from being on the edge of seoul. I think it is a lot quieter than seoul. Atleast where I live, I live in a far more residential area. Downtown Anyang has a good night life, a fairly decent sized foreigner population (although I just recently found this out and have been here for ten months), good restaurants.....and is in the subway system....alwys a bonus |

Anyang is pretty nice. Lots of restaurants and shops. Easy access to subway. There is one bar there that has open mic for musicians. Sometimes you might see a lot of teachers there. Try going to www.rockssin.com to check out pics. The chicken sticks sold on the street are pretty good too!!! |

I like it here. My part of Anyang is in the rougher part of town, but as a result its much quieter. I am not surrounded by foriegners, but know where to find a friendly waygook face when I feel the urge.
Some pretty nice people out and about in Anyang.
Masriel you doggie chomper where are you hiding?
btw.. Masriel and myself are not included in the nice catergory. |

I don't live far from Anyang. It's a nice place to be. I'd recommend it, especially for someone just starting out here in Korea. |

I live in Sanbon, very close to Anyang. It's a very nice city, with everything you will need... I'd definitely live there, probably one of the best places to live in Korea IMO. |

I'm living in Uiwang, which is, as rockstarsmooth noted, pretty much Anyang, and a decent place to live. Sanbon is also a worthwhile place, from what I have experienced.
Note: Dan the Chainsawman is just trying to fool you. He is, quite possibly, the world's biggest teddy bear.

I live in Anyang and agree with everyone. This is a very livable city, clean air, lots of parks, very close to Seoul and everything that's there. |

Ok, the Anyang Halla aren't that good. But they're the only Asia League team that managed to get a former NHLer. Esa Tikkanen! I love that man. |
