I was walking around the Ewha Shinchon area the other day and saw Chois' Tacos, but I'd already eaten lunch so didn't drop by. It's located along the road that runs from Megabox to Shincon. Anyone been there? How is it?

across the road and a little closer to Shinchon is another establishment I haven't had the opportunity to try out.

It's not bad. I think I like the one near Noksapyeong better. For similar but sit down there's one in Gangnam near the Kyobo H-shaped building at the end of the main drag.

I ate at Choi's Tacos once. I didn't really like it.. BUT.. always see tons of foreigners going in there all the time. Even saw an older western couple who came back to take pictures of the owner and staff - apparently they liked something there.

I visited Chois' last weekend and I've been once before. I think it's a pretty decent place. You got good portions for a reasonable price and it tastes pretty good. However I should mention that I don't have much of a frame of reference. I've only ever been to one other Mexican food place in Korea. It was this place in Yeoido that was WAY overpriced and it didn't taste all that great.

You're talking about Dos Tacos, which makes an AMAZING potato burrito for cheap! I don't recommend the nachos though. Pretty blah.

I think it's pretty good. The portions are generous, and the guac and salsa are homemade. Plus, it's probably one of the cheapest choices for decent Mexican food. My only frame of reference in Korea is Pancho's in Itaewon which I thought, quite frankly, sucked.

Or, you can go to Costco, buy ground beef, a 40 pack of tortillas, sour cream, a jar of jalapenos, a massive jug of Pace salsa, guacalmole if that's what you're into, and some cheese. Go home, add some veges if you like and make some wicked nachos, or some burritos. Tastes just like home, and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Cheaper? What's a pound of ground beef go for at Costco?

Regardless of price, it's nice to eat out.

I have been to Choi's tacos, Dos Tacos and Chilli's near Noksapyeong and I agree that Chilli's is by far the best.

It is nice to eat out. I don't know, I think it's 2 kg or something, a TON of ground beef, for 15,000. I break it up into about 7 or 8's and wrap them in celofane. That and Costco chicken breasts can't be beat on price.

Went there for lunch today with The_Beaver. First thing I noticed that in English the name is Chois' with the possessive apostrophe but in Korean it is 초이스 (choice) Seems odd.

Anyhow I had a beef/been burrito and beaver had a chicken taco. We both decided that it was pretty good, but not outstanding. Our evaluation is a B/B+ overall. Worth eating if you are in the neighborhood.

After dining there tonight, I feel compelled to add my recommendation of this taco joint. Great prices, fresh ingredients, and better than the place in Noksapyoung, in my opinion.

Walking distance from my place...I'm there at least once a week.

He needs some lessons in multi-tasking, though. This one-at-a-time order thing has got to go.

Yeah they are pretty damn slow at times. I might go there if I'm in the area, but the burritos at chili chili is heaps better
