You can watch TVU in Windows Media Player which seems to be a better picture than the TVU player with no buffering problems.
In order to do it you must have the TVU player on and tuned to a station.
put this url into wmp and all media will stream through it. Since you will have 2 audio streams you can mute the 1 in TVU

click on file- click on open url then copy this url in http://127.0.0.1:8901/

If you dont have TVU you can get it here. All major US networks including ESPN and HBO

Hmm, I wish it would work for me. It's coming up, but the picture is all messed up. like all purples, oranges, not the right colors.

Sorry to hear that. I got this off a forum on their web site. It doesn't seem to work for everyone but there are some suggestions there if you want to check it out. It's definitely worth using because there are virtually no buffering problems with WMP

It works great--thanks! I copied the URL, started up TVU and let it finish buffering, and then I started up WMP; it automatically started up in it.

It worked for me as well. The second stream seems like a good idea.

I wonder how long this will remain free. My guess is they will start charging for this around the first of next year (I don't know that for sure, but I'm guessing that's what they are planning).

First, PP thanks you sooo much. Enjoying MNF as I type.

Start up TVU, Open WMP and then under FILE open the URL. Mute TVU and enjoy. Full screen from a short distance is awesome.

Back to the game.

Hey, great tip. Seems to work better, especially on the TV screen.

But one idiotic question -- how do you get the WMP border to disappear? I'm right clicking and nothing to chose?????

It seems there are a lot of people on Dave's using the TVU player. It does work better as poker player pointed out and in fact I like watching the picture on the Windows Media Player better because I can get the sound up a little higher in terms of being able to hear the program.

I'm a technical idiot myself, but did you at least try several channels?
Some of the channels are very slow to load sometimes...

It should say "connecting" when you click on the channel. ESPN, for example, always takes 10 seconds or so, and then it takes another minute to start flowing properly.

Has anyone had any luck watching NHL Center Ice? I saw they added it. When I click on it and it loads, it says "press select to continue." Do I have to be a subscriber, or something?
