I am a BELIEVER of iriver.

I liked my 40 gig player so much that I decided I NEEDED a 1 gig to travel around with.

Here's the deal: I have always used PCs to load these guys up, but do you think that I could easily switch them to a mac? I am mostly worried about my larger one because I use it to store information as well as my my cd collection (it is a lot lighter than 500 CDs)

Any other iriver believers out there?

Thanks

I'm considering buying an mp3 player. What was it about the Iriver player that you found advantageous? Were all the programs in Korean? Was it easy to figure out? I used to have an iPod and found the iTunes program to be far too cumbersome, but I'm leery about Korean brands.

I bought an iriver in the past and it was great. The prices are on the high end but the player languages include English. As a matter of fact, most Korean brands have English manuals and software. You should check out the brands website for software and manual downloads and check everything is available in English.

Confirmed Korean manufacturers with English user interface and software:

Iriver
Stormblue (I just bought an A9+ with bluetooth headset...pretty cool)

Cheers

What I like about my larger player is that it can be plugged into anyone's computer without a problem (haven't tried a mac yet). It is just a hard drive, and I store anything I want on it. (resume, photos, scans of my passport and diploma). I know people who wiped out their ipod when they plugged it in to another computer. (I know there are ways to make sure that doesn't happen... but not everyone knows about them)

I figured out how to make sure both of them were 100% English without any problems at all... and I am not a tech person at all. In fact, there were loads of languages available on both.

The smaller one needs software loaded on a computer to work. The bigger one doesn't.

this actually isn't true. if you update the firmware on the smaller ones, it makes it into a flash drive. same as the one you have. but then (if you have the option) you can only record line in at 96kbps, which is more or less useless if you use that option often.

So how big is the large one?

Also, how much did it cost with the bluetooth headphones?

Is A9 the big or small one?

The A9+ is about 65g and 2 inch screen. I guess its big as far as flash players go, but it has video. I paid 196,000 (2G) for it with the headphones and leather case included.

you can see the specs here if you want: http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=1607

Has anyone used one successfully with a Mac?

I have an H320 and it works just fine with my Mac. They don't make those ones anymore though (or at least they didn't last summer when I was shopping for my mp3 player) and I don't know if there's a similar replacement.
