I've been here three months and have been sick five times. Colds, cough, sore throat that kind of thing. It's biological warfare with these kids.

I taught high-school in Canada and I think the only thing that saved me from this fate there was the big bottle of hand sanitizer I kept on my desk. Can someone tell me if they've ever seen it anywhere. I've looked but haven't had any luck.

i have been buying the new dettol brand soap at 7-11.

in some better pharmacies you can buy hand sanitizer, but i've just been using dettol. it has some massive doctor-strength sanitizer. you just have to run to the bathroom.

I looked at several stores for hand sanitizer when I got here. My Korean friends have never seen it here. Some clerks knew what it was, but said it didn't exist in Korea.

If you can buy it at a pharmacy, what do you call it in Korean?

Can you just use isopropyl? It's cheap and available at Olive Young.

Watson's carries it, and I've seen it at several pharmacies in Seoul.

Missha carries it.

Dunkin Donuts carries it. They even have it with aloe in it.

These Koreans that say it doesn't exist in Korea, jsut want to give you an answer so they don't look dumb. They probably have no clue what you are talking about.

Quite a number of Pharmacists carry it. I bought some for 2500W at the pharmacy near my house.

It comes under various labels: Plu or Hand Clean Gel (핸드크린켈).
I think that's how you spell the last one in Korean.

Anyway, if your pharmacist doesn't have it, ask a friend who speaks Korean to go with you, so you can have the pharmacist order it.

Don't buy the purell stuff at COEX. You'll pay through the nose to clean your hands. The Korean stuff does the same job, and it's cheap.

True. Although I'd then recommend a hand lotion chaser, although hand lotion is not cheap here.

Thanks for all the leads. I think I'll have to look in Seoul the next time I'm up there. I tried the e-mart here without any luck.

Thanks
