That most diabolical of writing, an intelligent historian who chooses to write falsified articles. Spanish, among other Romance languages, has a relatively heavy component of Arabic words in it, reflecting the continued presence of Moors in Spain. Numerous edicts, of varying efficacy, were passed in the high middle ages mandating Christian or Spanish practices. We can criticize such edits, but they reflect the fact that there must certainly still have been sizeable communities of people who didn't convert or leave. About the general argument, that Muslims protected Jews from Christians, seems a little too far-fetched to even discuss seriously.
The author very quickly mentions that it was a reconquisista. Any mention of the bloodshed inflicted on the populace in the initial conquest of southern Spain by Muslims earlier, or was it presumably done by vote?

| The fact remains, if you sent me back to the Middle Ages and gave me a choice of being a Muslim in a Christian country, or a Christian in a Muslim country, a quick risk assessment would mean I'd definately have to plunge for the latter. Any well informed person would, if they truly valued their own safety. |

My horse would be called Alpha and it would be dark as the night.
And my sword would be sharp for killing people.
I would answer to nobody but the king. Maybe id kill him too to take his throne. And the queen, and the princess, at the same time..why not?
