I am pretty frustrated as well with the Democrats.
Where I come from in Oregon (which is pretty solidly blue) there is a tough governor's race and a fight for the two chambers of the Oregon Legislature. Of the 5 of the 7 members of Congressional delegation are D's. All of the US Represenatives are up for reelection (4 of 5 are D's) and neither of our US Senators up this time (we have one D and one R).
Nationwide, it seems like it's going to be a wash. If the Democrates pick up any seats, it won't be enough to take control of the House or Senate.
I find this comment shocking. In fact so much so, I almost fell on the floor.

yeah, VA's democrats can't seem to get their acts together. i mean, a republican candidate used the slur "macaca" and he's still solidly in the race!
yeah, i can't believe he voted for clinton and gore. i call BS. |

8. Budget Deficits - Taking Clintons 230 billion dollar surplus and turning 180 degrees. Bush is bankrupting America's future. All the while China and India are buying gold, US currency and Bonds setting themselves up for the future.
9. Compleate failure to secure America - Bush has been unable to secure the ports, cargo, the borders, airports, etc. Despite spending billions he still tries to sell the ports to Arabs. Smooth operator!
10. The total polarization of the USA. He and his brain have split the country into either Jesus loving, flag waving yahoo rednecks or terrorist supporting, granola eating, god hating, abortion loving leftist hollywood bombthrowers. |
If this is the Democrat's platform.......loook for a "shocking" Republican victory in November.......despite what the MSM is whispering about a potential Democrat takeover of either the House and/or Senate.
Talk about talking oneself into a corner.
It never amazes me how those on the left are so convinced that those on the right know nothing about the choices they make, instead of simply allowing for a difference of opinion as would civilized grown-ups. This presupposition, spouted so vociferously to any and all......is reason enough to vote Republican.
Let the crybabies stay in socialized daycare. |

Here is example A- of typical liberal thinking. Why would you find it "shocking" that someone like Joo voted for Clinton???
Times change, as do peoples choices. It is only the small-minded who adhere to only one interpretation of politics.
BTW, I voted for Clinton as well, mainly cause I thought Dole (in 96) was not up for the job. I was for Gore in 02, but not strongly. And in the last election, my only focus was to prevent, in any way I could, Kerry from becoming President.
Is this shocking??

I stopped pulling for the Democrats shortly after Bush was first elected. They've completely lost their mind. They have no center, no plan and no real descrenible goals. Say what you what you want about the Republicans, but up until about a year ago, they were solid and had all the ear-marks of a winner and people love a winner. The Left has been screaming their silly little heads off for years about how evil Bush is, but the more the scream, the more shrill they sound. People just tune it out. Their response? To scream even louder and spout more nonsense.
I feel comfortable in saying that most people in the U.S. are neither far Left or far Right. There really are some moderates. The problem is, neither party actually represents them. The Right is getting to far into Bible territory to make the majority really comfortable and the Left is getting to far in to whatever is on that side. They're so gone I don't even know anymore. Their reaction to loosing was to keep veering farther and farther off course.
Lieberman is one of the true moderates, but they ran him out on a rail. There is no dominant voice of reason in their party. They elected Howard Dean as DNC Chairman, for frell's sake. If I was going to vote it would be Republican, if for no other reason then they at least seem to have an idea of what they're doing. Some of them, anyway. And trust me, it pains me to say that. But I won't just throw my vote away to be one of the "better than Bush" crowd. I value that right more than that. If the Democrats want my vote, they need to get their ddong together.

so you'd rather vote for a party that has proved how incompetant it is than the democrats? ouch.
I realize the democrats are idiots and can't run on any kind of platform, but could they be any worse than the GOP is right now?? I don't think so- honestly. |

I said if I WAS going to vote. At this point it would have to be for the Republicans. The Democrates have got nothing going for them. I'd really like to see some kind of 'vote of no confidence' put on ballots. That way, if enough people didn't like any of the candidates, they just wouldn't be elected. Then we'd be saved of trying to balance the lesser of two evils. It'd cause some headaches, to be sure, but I think in the end we'd end up with better candidates and a better country. If we're allowed to just not elect anyone if we don't feel their suitable I think candidates would shape up a bit. Wishful thinking, but what ya gonna do.

milwaukie=suburb of portland, OR.
Apparently OR likes to copy other city names (portland being the other one that pops into my head). |

Well first, let's get the dates straight. I'm assuming your talking about Gore running in 2000. Second, I'll say the same thing I said to Joo, which is you know very little about my political beliefs. I actually tend to be more conservative on some issues, one of which is immigration.
Second, you make it sound as though you were forced to vote for Clinton in 96' and Gore in 2000.
Third, as for being small minded, how about openly bashing people for being "left wing"?
