Hello people:

Is there a defacto ESL learner's book or series (read best) for teachers working with adults? And what about the other age groups?
My goal is to teach conversational English during classes and to improve the students' grammar skills. So far, the books I've been given by the hagwons have me wondering, "There must be better."

I liked the Exploring English series but after I expressed that idea I was told here the series is crap and if I were smart, I'd like the Interchange series.

Said it before, the best integreated skills text books are from CUP or OUP - INTERCHANGE or American Headway are good 4 skills books.

Also, World View and World Link are pretty good and have great teacher support. find them at Longman and Pearson, I believe.

I dislike American Headway. I don't think it's ideal for Koreans (too much focus on grammar). I agree though that World Link is a decent text, and it has a sufficient amount of additional materials and activities that come along with the book for teachers.

I have also heard great things about English Upgrade. Based on what I know about its methodology, this may be your best choice.
