What are my options for going from Seoul to Gimhae, leaving out air travel? Does KTX go there? What about buses, would I have to change somewhere? |

KTX to Gupo Station (not Busan Station)
leave the train station. walk down the road to the main street. Cross the overpass and jump in a taxi to Gimhae. (saves you 10,000 won if you dont get the taxis in front of the train station) You could also take the number 8 bus (if they havent changed the numberse or routes), across the overpass.
There might even be a subway that goes to gimhae now. I havent lived there for a few year, so I can't say for sure. |

It's only 14,000 if you take the taxis outside the trainstation. It cost me 5000-6000 using a taxi that I got after crossing the overpass. Those taxis will use a meter. The ones outside the train station will just laugh at you if you ask for a metered rate. |

I use a metered cab to get from nampodong to sasang about 6 times a year and it costs about 8000 won.....
So the train station is near nampodong(only 3 subway stops away) and from sasang to the airport is a good 5000 so that is how i come to my total...
there is no way a taxi costs 6000 won from busan train station to the airport..
BTW...i have caught a cab from the front of Busan train station quite a few times and they all use their meters....maybe it was different a few years ago. If they didn't use a meter i wouldn't take the taxi |
