If you have a computer in your apartment, may I suggest Yahoo. With Yahoo voice, you can call anywhere in the States for about 1 cent a minute. With a credit card you can add money to your account. I talk a lot on the phone and $10 is good for about 2 to 3 months. You use your computer to call land lines and cell phones. Its the best thing Ive found. |

Most corner stores /family marts / minimart sell phone cards. The little newspaper shacks by the bus stops also sell them. The calling rate is about 10 cents per minute or less from your landline.
Shop around and you can get cards with 300 minutes (5 hours) to the US for as low as 12,000 won (about 4 or 5 cents per minute). |

I found a good calling card for calling abroad from your landline is the "For You" card. It costs about 13,000 won and is available at most little grocery stores.
