Okay, first time to try using my laptop at a hotel with a wireless connection.

My laptop has the infared sensor.

But I can't figure out how to connect it to wireless. I thought it would be automatic, but I guess not.

I don't even have a wireless icon in my network connections window.

How can I set that up? Then will it work?

Does it have wireless??

Infra-red is NOT a wireless network connection.

It is a light source wireless connection similar to the TV remote control and is typically for things like a wireless keyboard, mouse, or other similar devices.

Wireless network connections are based on a small radio transceiver (like a cell phone) that connects to an open wireless connection (like a router perhaps).

Yes, I'm sure it has wireless.

Before I got my hard drive reformatted, I used have an icon at the bottom right corner that said, "wireless network is not connected, or something like that every time I turned on my comp.

I don't know how to get this back since I didn't do it the first time.
