BOK Says Sorry for High Salaries
The Bank of Korea (BOK) yesterday apologized for giving high salaries to drivers and guards stationed at its headquarters and promised to streamline its organization.... The auditor said the average annual wage of the banks' 218 guards and 88 drivers was 63 million won and 67 million won, respectively, and that one driver received up to 91 million won.

In Korea, aren't teachers respected and paid more than drivers?
Do you even earn close to the wage of the BOK drivers?

Any nation this crazy, I say you should get out of, RR. Clearly, they don't value you in the way you value yourself and you should consider selling your considerable skills in markets ready and willing to pay more.

What's keeping you here, anyway?

Yeah, Korea really needs to catch up with the western world in terms of paying teachers a decent salary. Rolling Eyes

A nice salary indeed. But would you really want bank guards who weren't fairly well compensated?

Excellent question RR...so what is it?

You do seem to have reached an impass here. You are clearly thinking that you are worth more than you are making here. You clearly think you have the experience, skills and credentials to earn more. Now, taking all of this into account why not move on to a place where those skills, credentials and that experience would translate into a salary that is on par with what you think you are worth?

I mean, go to a western country and become a university professor. You will then be on the pay scale you covet so badly and could possibly earn tenure after a few years of hard research and publications.

You could also teach in a High School as a permanent teacher. You will then get tenure and union representation.

Why stay here at all? You are hammering the same points about pay over and over. I see no reason for you to smash your head against the wall any longer. Time to pack up and move to a place where you can get what you feel you are worth.

What are they apologizing for exactly? They aren't allowed to pay as they wish?

I was thinking about Real Reality the other day.

Can you imagine the grudge that you would need to have to want to post negative articles about something on some message board for *years* on end? It's pathological.

I wonder what it would be like if RR dated somebody and then broke up with them. Would it be full blown stalking? I bet it would be passive-aggresive, like the way he posts articles with almost no commentary and yet they are almost always negative. I think if RR loved a girl and she dumped him he would do something like mailing her a blank piece of paper everyday for 10 years. Something creepy like that.

Honestly, the more I think about RR, the more I think that he is one of the most thoroughly demented people I've ever come in contact with, however indirectly.

He/she used to be normal. Still trying to track down the point of no return though. Anyone?

Yeah, if you go back and read his/her (why do I always assume posters are male?) first posts, it's very interesting because they are normal, but then slowly the tethers to reality snap one by one...

Miniskirts Get Even Shorter
http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=55832

Miniskirts Get Even Shorter
Miniskirts which are so short that passersby feel embarrassed just to see them are hitting the street in Korea in the spring season of 2006. They are not just mini. They are super-miniskirts with their total length less than 25 cm. Such super-miniskirts, which got some 10 cm shorter from 10 years ago, are selling like hot cakes, some 2,500-3,000 units on average a day in G-Market, a local online shopping mall, and Auction, the trading site.

Why are the biggest whiners posters from 2003? (and had more contracts in Korea than we've had hot dinners)

Some people are just too stupid to see the paradox.

Homer rips RR apart on an almost daily basis and the sad troll still comes back for more. Story of his life, huh?

Real Reality - do us all (and not least yourself) a massive favour and **** off home. Put yourself out of your misery.

When posters start wondering what he's like, remember that RR isn't just RR. He's someone's sock -- that is not in dispute -- and I believe the other identity posts and converses as normally as the rest of us. At least to the extent that nobody has yet guessed who RR's other identity is based on similar writing styles or a telltale penchant for whining. My hunch is that one of the primary reasons he writes so sparingly when posting as RR is that he's (I'll assume it's a 'he') being careful not to give himself away.

Apologising for getting caught, for being found out, being exposed, for riling up the masses. The Korean street is prone to, among other things, radical egalitarianism. Korean media knows it, panders to it, and fosters it. Personally, I enjoy it. And I actually kind of miss the days when Korean TV & newspapers would hector Koreans to moderate their wage demands & personal spending habits. The annual "Have a crappy (frugal, no imported booze) Chuseok!" editorials, and chastising people for going on foreign holidays or buying cars before they'd first bought a home.

I suspect he's a sock for a Japanese ESL recruiter.
