I plan on dressing up for a few days around holiday. I will decorate my classroom in traditonal Halloween style--spider webs, candles, pumpkins, etc. I will spend the days teaching them words and history of the holiday. Anyone have other ideas? |

May I jump in and ask if this holiday is celebrated on a national scale or as part of ESL classes? It happens to be my favourite holiday ^.^ I've seen pics of Halloween celebrations in Hagwons, but I didn't think it was a recognized occasion outside of the west.
Can you go to the store and buy Halloween decorations like the aforementioned pumpkins? Where do the kids get their costumes? |

Hello, Genaureliano!
I know two versions of a spooky song which is often sung at Halloween time.
The first version is somewhat more melodious,
but you can easily train even a musically inexperienced student to play the second version on a keyboard instrument.
It is nothing more than four notes repeated over and over. |

It is usually a hakwon thing but enough kids go to hakwons that you can usually find a limited amount of Halloween stuff in places like Home-plus or E-mart the week before halloween.
If you want somthing different then you can go to an "event store" that has party and costume supplies (year round) to get some stuff.
Be forwarned, it is VERY limited in selection and VERY, VERY expensive.
If would be in your best interest to bring Halloween type stuff (masks, makeup, fake stuff, DECORATIONS) from home if you want to go all out.
There are some halloween parties in places like Itaewon and Hongdae. |
