| The DVD in my apartment plays the picture but no sound. The former tenant (ex-teacher) left a bunch of DVDs behind, I have some but I can't watch them. No sound! No combinations of the connections seem to work but I think theres a but to press. Some help here? Thanks. |

| is it an external DVD player or is it built into the TV? if it's external, there should be either a coax cable (regular cable tv cable) from the DVD out to the TV in, or 3 RCA cables coloured red, white and yellow. the yellow is video, the white and red are audio. if there is no white/red, there will be no sound. if there is red or white but not the other, then try plugging it into the other socket. more info would be helpful though (ie ins/outs on tv and dvd). |

| Its external. The ports on the front are yellow and white plus a headphone plugin. Did I mention a series of buttons near them? All in Korean. Maybe the cables from the DVD player aren't plugged in right. They are around where the yellow videio cable is. What about the coxial? Do I need to plag that through the DVD player? Thanks. |

if it's coax it will just go from the DVD out to TV in, and carries both video and audio. yellow and white huh? interesting that it's only mono in. anyway, in that case you might want to get a cable that goes from 2 RCA cables to 1 RCA, so that you're not missing half your audio from the DVD player. as for the buttons, i've never seen any TV that had any buttons to control sound, aside from the obvious mute and volume. if you can go with the coax cable, that is the easiest way, unless you're going through a home theatre system. |

| The coax that connects the cable to the TV doesn't fit the DVD player, maybe I can pick one up. Maybe. Thanks for the help. |
