Why is it the winners of the nobel prizes are not even listed in the Korean English newspapers?
So far............Chemistry, medicine, physics....all to the U.S.A!
Wow, that makes even more people hope they are "not from the U.S"
Koreans would DIE to have such an honor! |

Who cares?!! Are you a scientist? Will you personally contibute something great and profound to mankind?
So the womb you came from was in the same geographical location as the womb of some smart scientists. Not anything to be too proud of there. |

It's a fine nation when the president isn't bombing people because god told him too. |

It's a fine nation even with that going on, it just needs to have a stop put on it.
And Alyssa, in your post, honor should be plural. Stop humiliating US. |

Here's a little background:
The First Nobel Prizes - 1901
A pacifist at heart and an inventor by nature, Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel invented dynamite. However, the invention that he thought would end all wars was seen by many others as an extremely deadly product. In 1888, when Alfred's brother Ludvig died, a French newspaper mistakenly ran an obituary for Alfred which called him the "merchant of death."
Not wanting to go down in history with such a horrible epitaph, Nobel created a will that soon shocked his relatives and established the now famous Nobel Prizes... http://history1900s.about.com/library/weekly/aa042000a.htm |

She said the above, because she saw so many people bashing the United States. The United States does have some of the finest scientists in the world and also intellectuals. I just find it ironic that too many citizens would not want a president who sounds so educated.
People respect America's movie industry, institutions like Cornell and Harvard, Silicon Valley, and they respected empathetic leaders like William Jefferson Clinton. With Bush, he uses God as an excuse. It wasn't really his idea to invade Iraq. I hope the next leadership will be worth of the US which has so much potential and past and present glory. |

Most of the winners were the products of and employees at some of America's many great universities. The rest of the world slags us while sending their children to our universities to be taught by these guys. |

Harry: A picture of me?
Perry: No! The definition of idiot. Which you f*cking are!
B-Movie Actress: So what do you do?

Do you not find it even a little bit pretentious to use pure untranslated Japanese in a forum for English speakers living in Korea (i.e. people who are unlikely to know japanese)? |

Not when it makes my point so well.
Edit: which is that the guy who discovered the existence of vitamin B1 got the nobel prize when a Japanese guy had already shown how to split and extract it, but failed to get the prize because he wrote in the wrong language.
