Quote:
The longest-ever Chusok holiday this year has replaced the traditional Chusok scenes with sights of holidaymaking.

As people can enjoy up to nine days off work from Sept. 30 through Oct. 8 by utilizing the five-day workweek and National Foundation Day, which falls today, they are taking the opportunity to do things that require a lot of time, for example, plastic surgery.
Plastic surgery hospitals are enjoying a flood of reservations during the holiday period, as patients can take three to four days to rest at home after surgery, avoiding showing their swollen faces to friends or colleagues.

Most of the operations are for double eyelids, nose alterations and mole removals.

Many plastic surgery hospitals and clinics, which usually do not open on holidays, posted notices on their Web sites that they will operate during the whole Chusok period. They have also expanded business hours by two to three hours.

Let's see how many articles we can collect that mention "Chuseok, Korean Thanksgiving." Wow, I can relate to that! Korea's international image is going up and up and up!

Once in a while. Laughing

But you'll notice all my news postings come at once, as I copy and paste stuff from the Korea Times when I check it. The rest of the day I'm just your average brat.

Plus, none of my posts have ever included the "No Chair for the Foreigner" article from the JoongAng Ilbo that gets included in 83% of RR's posts.

Ha!!! I don't think MOST KOreans will have 9 days off...This is Korea, you know. Most Koreans get few, if any holidays. Many work six day workweeks for years with their vacations being one day a week off. I don't even think all hagwons are giving this much time off.
