It was picked up by a native Korean member of our Seoul veggie club. She is trying to save it from dog pound death, and has found a student willing to adopt it after her final exams in November.
She says that she'll pay for the all the food for the poodle in the meantime ... If anyone is willing and able to help, just post here or PM me. I think "White Lotus" will add more info here when she gets a chance...

If I were in Korea right now, I'd gladly welcome the dog into my home. I rescued a wonderful dog when I was in Budapest recently. I'm so happy to hear that there are like-minded people like myself in Korea who care about the well-being of animals. I hope things work out for the poodle. |

I really don't have that much information on it yet - just an email in Konglish. I'm not even sure that it's a poodle - it might be a "puppy"... It states that if she doesn't "pick it up by Sunday" it'll be sent to the pound. The person who emailed me lives around Insa-dong, but I'm not sure if she still has the dog or what. She needs to either post on this thread or email me again to clarify and give more info - but she may be caught up in Chuseok activities... |

I must have been able to imagine that the joke about konglish would come directly from someone that I thought he was a friend of mine.
Please provide a place for this poor thing for 45 days, I will do my best to help you out if you have a place for this male poodle. I have a very stressful job around this season and the situation is just too much for me right now. |

I used Konglish in a complimentary sense - I thought "King Kong" was a great movie! (his English wasn't good, but he communicated very well with that blonde actress... )
Anyway, "White Lotus" kindly provided me with some additional details about the dog. It's a white male poodle, about 6 years old.
It's currently at the UC Animal Hospital, which is about a two-minute taxi ride from the Anyang subway station.
It reportedly was abandoned by its owner about 5 days ago, and the the vet thinks that it may have been abused ...
"White Lotus" says that it's cute, friendly and loving but seems very insecure, and it evidently has some temper as it bit her when she tried giving it a bath... (I don't think that it broke skin, though...)
If anyone can take care of it, becomes attached and wants to keep it long term that would also be OK ...
If seriously interested in helping save the poor dog's life you can PM either me or "Hater Depot" as well as "White Lotus" ... |

This thread is for people interested in helping out one way or another. "Richard Krainium's" posts here are not especially helpful - other than providing an opportunity to bump the thread... (If it becomes obvious trolling, though, mods will be notified...) |

So wish I were in Korea right now. I'll have to find out if I can have a dog while I'm there. About the biting, the poor thing is terrified, doesn't know you, was abandoned and had who knows what else happen, and just needs to be kept in a safe and quiet place for a while. I pray someone opens their heart and takes this dog in for a while.
This is a serious matter. No more jokes. And forget about the Konglish comment. It's history. Okay?
Go to the job-discussion thread and click on this post: "For job seekers who ...".
Cheers. |

I agree with Rteacher, let's keep the comments focused on finding a home for this animal. I've removed comments from this thread and will continue to do so if they are deemed inappropriate. |
