Where is the place that prepares the best steak around here?
What specifically do you like about the place you choose? What criticisms do you have for the other places listed in the poll?
Some people here might be so fortunate to list their home as the best place; if so, what about the steaks cooked there makes them so well prepared (i.e., any tips for others to prepare steaks at their homes)?
I choose Outback. The last time there I had the Prime Minister's Prime Rib. It was a thick hunk of meat, just what I imagine in my mind's eye when I think of steak (think of the Tom and Jerry cartoons). I like steaks cooked medium, so I made sure to order it well-done; I feel bad for the people here who like their steaks to be actually cooked well-done.
I like the salad bar at VIPS, but the steak...I don't know. The last one I had, though it was well-prepared, it looked like it had been a soggy, thawed piece of meat sitting on a kitchen counter for hours before it was cooked.
The Outback steak I had was a solid piece of meat about an inch thick; the meat had the same consistency and integrity from one end to the other. The VIPS steak I had (I think it was called the prime rib--it was the 9 1/2 oz. one) was irregularly shaped throughout, and it was only 3/4 the thickness of the Outback steak. But I like the clean atmosphere in VIPS. Also, all the customers aren't crammed together inside, unlike almost anyplace else here, so that is an enjoyable surprise from a Korean company.
As far as atmosphere, by itself, I would have to mention Black Angus. It has a real cozy, secluded feel on the inside. |

No idea man. Surprisingly, as much as I love it, steak is the one food that I miss the least for some reason when living abroad.
I miss pies more than anything else I guess, but yeah, I hear ya - a good steak would be, uh, good right now. |
