I have various travel guides to resorts and such here in Korea, but I am looking for something specific and haven't been able to find it yet. Maybe you know of a place.

I want to find a cozy place with a nice stone or brick fireplace in the room -- or at least one in a common area (like you might find at a ski lodge).

OR...

I want to find a decent, private place to stay that is right on the beach. But I don't mean a casino hotel in Pusan (yeah, I'm old school in my spelling ;> ). I want a quiet, secluded place.

Anyone have any place they can suggest?

Wonju - take the bus to the south end of the Chiaksan Park. There are two south ends, you'll want the more eastern one, not the Gumhae(?) valley exit. Walk to the trail head from the bus stop. There is one lodge that is a mud house and its wickedly cozy. I think they rent rooms and they have a firepit outside of the lodge. If they don't rent rooms, a few other places in the neighborhood do.

Thanks! I've been to the mountain and like Wonju, so that's a good choice. I'll look into it!

Goeje Island at this time of year is awesome. Only thing is, you kinda need a car or a motorcycle to hunt out the bargains for places to stay.

Ask VanIslander about Goeje.

Another thanks. Actually, I have a car, and I am planning a trip down to Jinju, anyhow... maybe the island would be a good choice. I've actually wanted to go see the park down there for years.
