A) If you are IN one of their schools (hakwons) then check about conditions with current staff.
B) Many times (like with the Incheon after school program) they are the hakwon that "farms out" teachers to public schools for the after school program. This gives you the worst of both worlds.
You get all the benefits of working for a hakwon (NONE) and none of the benefits of working in the public system while you are in fact working for a public school.
If the case is B then look for a real public school job and get the benefits as well. |

I work for GEC in a public school. GEC is great and they are definatley one of the better companies. I worked in the hagwon a couple of times too. Which is good, although I don't really like hagwon work I think working at GEC is probably one of the better hagwons. The problem working in the gec hagwon is you live in a dorm next to the school. But there are alot of cool people living there. But im public and I have a nice loft style apartment  |
