I want to leave in 6 months. Should I tell or should I not tell? What are the consequences?

Most places don't offer 6 month contracts though. My old school gave a couple of people 8 month deals.

Turn the question around. Suppose you sign a 6 month contract, make plans for that time period but at the end of 3 months the boss says they don't want you anymore. How upset would you be?

If you only want a six-month deal you should try blitzing recruiters with such a request. One of them may have something.

If you insist on doing this the only ethical way I can think of is to find a hogwan so crappy that you would have pulled a runner after six months anyways. Wonderland may be a place to start looking.

if you're in seoul now then you aren't making the hagwans pay for your plane ticket over here. they will be more happy to work with you and make a custom contract if you're not making them shell out $3000 for a plane ticket. The price of the plane ticket is the biggest factor in making the standard 1 year contract the way it is, I suspect.

Besides, most contracts have 30-day written notice clauses built in. if all else fails just give them 30 days written notice.

Is that first class? These hogwans are paying A LOT less for airline tickets.
