They reported a seismic wave as big as 3.58 was detected in Hwadae, Hamkyungbook-do at 10:36 in the morning (Korea time). They are trying to confirm if it was caused by the alleged underground nuke test.

I agree. The Korean peninsula is peaceful and stable now. Let the US take it's troops home. Canadian ESL teachers are enough of a deterent anymore, I'd say.

North Korea in nuclear test claim

Reports from North and South Korea say the communist authorities in North Korea have carried out their first ever test of a nuclear weapon.
The North Korean state news agency said the underground test was a success.

In South Korea, President Roh Moo-hyun convened a meeting of his top security officials following the reports.

North Korea said last week that it planned to test a nuclear weapon, in defiance of international warnings, because of what it called US hostility.

I'd actually worry about this one, guys.

I'm locking this thread and redirecting eveyone to the thread in the current events forum:

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=67918

Just to let everyone know (since I've received a few PM's, the reason I'm locking this is so we can let those who may have questions about living in Korea or moving here continue to get important information. Also, it's kind of crazy having the same discussion in 2 or 3 (or even 4) diffrent forums (which happens from time to time).

Thanks,

NC
