Hi everyone

I'm back in the states now and was just told by another former teacher who worked in Seoul that ALL employers are requried to pay into pension regardless of the size of the hogwon or the number of foreign teachers employed.

My former boss never gave me any paperwork for pension or any kind of form to take into the pension office to claim it back if I was owed it.

My friend is telling me that it may still be possible to get a pension refund even though I'm no longer in Korea. I didn't get any money back at all for all the tax deducted from my salary. Then again, perhaps I didn't get enough deducted.

Any experts on this?

I think you have to apply for it while in country. Anyway, you must of spent your time here living under a rock if you don't know how to sort your pension. Also, if you paid for a year it should be around 2000USD Shocked
