Three sprightly kittens arrived at my friend's door tonight. They look to be about 4 weeks old. They're friendly, curious and a genuine delight.
Both my friend and I would love to keep them, but neither of us have plans to live in Korea long-term. We'll shelter them happily until a life-long home can be found.
If you have a permanent residence here, and are interested in giving 1-3 of them a home, please let us know. Pics to follow shortly. |

Just for fun, here are the pictures I took last night. They're not great, but they make me smile.

Well, there's good news and there's bad news. And also possibly more good news.
The good news is that these kittens weren't cruelly abandoned, and their parents both seem to be alive.
The bad news is that I can't very well start shipping kittens around the country now, even to people who want them very much.
The possible good news is that the guy who owns them might be willing to sell them or give them up.
I took my two little wards back to the apartment where they first turned up, and on my way out, I saw a big fluffy gray queen in the window in another building. I went to the door, and in my limited Korean, said "Uh, I see you have a cat here. We seem to have a few next door... are they yours?" He replied "I lost three cats yesterday," which of course matched our story. It was instantly apparent that this was their home though-- the dad was a slender, mottled, dark beast, and more of the litter was curled up around the house. The fellow has 8 cats in all!
If you would like, I can forward your information to this guy, who might be willing to sell/give them up for adoption. If you don't speak English, maybe you could pass me the email/number of a Korean friend.
I'm really sorry for jumping the gun and getting anyone's hopes up. I'm happy to hear there are so many out there who would host a stray, and I'm sure more opportunities and needy kittens will crop up soon. |
