Hi,

The director wants me to work at 2 different schools - 4 lessons in the morning and then he drives me to work at another school for 2 lessons.
Is this normal? Relatively good money but he pays all the bills!! i.e.deducts from my wage. Ive spoken to him and he sounds OK, he's also agreed to all my contract changes (except naming the schools and hours - need to be flexible).

Or do I go for a school where I earn a few hundred pound less but prob above board. Sorry I need to ship my docs off today...!

Ah so thats why he doesnt want to put the names of the 2 schools in the contract. This guy would be my boss, so I have his permission.. Presumably though if he hasnt registered me working at 2 schools, i could get in big trouble with the authorities...

My director wanted me to work at another school owned by him in another city with the same franchise name. He told me it was OK, that he had checked with immigration. Well I checked too and they told me "no". Not under any circumstanses can you work for two hagwons. The person I talked to remembered my bosses particular conversation and remembered telling him no. But my boss told me it was OK, after the conversation with the immigration officer. The Officer went on to tell me that it would be possible to work at another location if it was a public school or a governmental body. This conversation was verified on the spot when I called a good Korean friend and passed my phone back and forth to make sure I was clear with what i had been told.

Odds are you may not get caught if it is two hagwons. And if it's good pay...well only you can decide. If you tell him no, other things could turn bad. In my situation, he just found another way to cover it.

I quoted the legal thing and he's disappeared. Thanks for your reply, very helpful. That extra money would have been useful as well.

Ah well, it's only money !!
