I was just wondering if your SO back home is more worried than you about the recent news or if its the other way around. For me, its the later. I feel this pressure to make a decision to stay and wait it out.....or be prepared to leave and be able to continue my life with my partner. Maybe i'm overreacting but I don't feel its fair to ask him to be alright with me putting myself and our future at risk....for just a job.
What are your experiences with this?

Like you say yourself,

You're more concerned with your SO than your job, and so you should. Personally, I don't think there's any immediate danger and the situation remains largely unchanged for the average ESL teacher. BUT if your SO is fretting too much, and you feel threatened, then there's no reason not to go home.

Hahahaha, not a single message from my family. I love how chill they all are. Technically not a SO, but that's okay.

Tell him to quit watching CNN and life will go on as usual.

There is a far greater risk of either of you getting hit by a car.

If he is in the states, he is more likely to get shot by some drug crazed junkie doing a drive-by than you are of getting nuked.

If you honestly believe you're in danger, then maybe you're right to go home, but his feelings of anxiety aren't reason enough to turf it. He's got to take responsibility for them and learn to deal if you assess the situation as adequately safe.
