Hi all,
Are the standard battery sizes, your AA and AAA and such, readily available in Korea? Rechargables? Noticably more expensive?
Thanks,
Michael |

Yep, readily available and not noticeably more expensive.
Incidentally, food and panties are also available for sale here, even in Bundang (see various other threads) |

This is what Korean AA batteries look like. Don't worry, you can get an adaptor. It's a little heavy but it's easy to find.

Get rechargeables and a charger. Probably won't cost you more than $30 and will last you at least 3 years even when used regularly. Just ask the guy for an international charger that can work on different currents so you can take it back to your home country. He'll also sell you an adapter plug to use in your country - very cheap (500 won) (50 cents).
If you have a digital camera, this will be a necessity as digital cameras suck power like crazy. |

If you get AAA batteries at a larger grocery store (not convenience stores) they're super cheap. I get 2 for 700 won, but it can be twice as expensive at a Family Mart. |

Batteries are as cheap as chips. They're the same size everywhere in the world. Even North Korea. They're much cheaper here than in Britain. And recharchables and a charger for $30? I'd need to stay here like a decade before that became a good investment.. |

It is a great investment if you have power-sucking devices like a digital camera. Not to mention that you're saving the environment by not throwing out batteries every week. |
