Does anyone here actually like it?
I bloody hate it. All that puking, fatigue, contipation, burping, lugging around all that extra baggage....I can't wait for the bloody thing to pop out. .....sigh, almost another 4 months to go... |

Puking, fatigue, belching... Personally, I'd consider the prohibition on vodka shooters a bigger disincentive to get preggers.
But I hope the best for you. For you two. |

=) big bird, you and I are due about the same time. I was thinking of starting somewhat of a similar thread, concerning weight- I just went to the doctor this am, and I have ganied 10 kilos, yet I'm not due 'til January! I weigh almost the same as my husband now! Arrrrrrrrgh! Jenny McCarthy gained 80 lbs. , and I think Liz Hurley also gained, like, 55 pounds or something. It's not like I can start a diet now or anything~ I wonder how much other preggies have gained, because I'm feeling kind of bad about it....
I bet Casey's Moon is absolutely miserable- I'm really not looking forward to my last month, especially. Meh- I can't sleep well (I wake up at least 3 times minimum every night), and I'm tired- I haven't wanted to make dinner at all once I got home from work this past week. I was busy over Chuseok, so I think that's part of it (husband is the oldest son, and his mom is almost 70, so I had to pull my weight- even my husabnd said, "Last year you worked so aggressively- this year you are slower and not working as hard..." He was just making an observation, but it still made me feel, er, guilty). Baby seems to think my bladder is a punching bag, too- must be a boy, 'cuz he's super active (meh, gender typing, must stop that...). Also, I hate maternity clothes- I'm wearing a pre-pregnancy dress shirt right now, but it's a bit tight on my belly, so I think I need to go to maternity clothes full-time, now. I wore a new t-shirt for the first time the other day, and it makes me look even bigger- if it weren't for the capped sleeves, I'd look like I was wearing fat clothes, you know?
I really have to watch it so I don't overeat or consume the amt. of food I used to in one sitting- I've never felt so uncomfortably full in my life, after eating just a bagel!!
I thought I'd like being pregnant, but I prefer my regular self. I miss beer.... There are food nazis around, too- at my work, some pizzas were delivered with coke, and even though I only had 1/2 of a paper cup of cola, one of my co-workers was like, should you really be drinking that? Grr- I have a little cola MAYBE once every 2 weeks. I asked my doctor about caffeine, and she said a little caffeine is permissable. Then my husband doesn't want me eating chocolate, even a little, or ice cream, for that matter God, I don't need to be on a macrobiotic diet just because I'm having a baby.
Heh, it's fun to biatch online (I don't talk about this stuff with anyone else, except a friend who went back to Canada and had her baby on Sept. 30th). Hang in there, BB! |

No. Such a thread would be useless without photos. |

God, it must be amazing being pregnant...
I don't plan to have children, but its always possible I guess!
I'm curious about the emotional/psychological/spiritual side of things...
Would you feel comfortable sharing your experiences?
For example, are you emotionally up and down because of the hormones?
Scared? Excited? Angry? Elated? Horrified perhaps, I mean at being responsibly for a while new life inside you, having it grow inside you...
Do you think about spiritual issues, or does the whole physical side of things distract from this? (being uncomfortable, in pain, tender, tired etc)
And how do your husbands deal with it, are they more scared/nervous/excited than you? ahh, so many questions~ |

Just recently they found a man in India who was preganant of sorts. (India always seems to have these freaks of nature)
Inside his belly was an unborn dead fetus. No he didnt have a womb. It was his unborn twin brother who he had benn carrying inside his gut for all these years. |

Congratulations periwinkle. Is this your first? I wouldn't worry too much about the weight gain - but try making sure your food is nutritious, and not laden with fat or sugar. You don't want to gain too much more. I lost 8 kilos the day I gave birth to my first child...so be assured some of it will come off right away! If you breastfeed your bubby, you'll slowly lose weight that way too. However be warned, if you breastfeed you'll also have the appetite of a horse, and you'll need to keep an eye on your intake, in order to benefit.
Ignore the food nazis. A little bit of this and that here and there wont make much difference. Just make sure you don't consume a lot of one thing at one time though. i.e. 7 glasses of beer spread out over a week is a lot safer than 4 glasses of beer in one night one time a week...of course I'm not encouraging you to drink beer! I'm just giving an example of what I mean.
Try to walk each day if you can too. This is good for you and baby, and will help keep down the weight, and keep you fit for the big day!
I sympathise with how uncomfortable you feel when eating. My appetite is getting smaller and smaller, and my burping longer and louder! |
