Kim Jong Il's bodyguards and some mass games footage at the end. I like the extreme, back-in-time quality of the footage.

I really don't get this 'hit me - I'm hard' type of training that the Koreans seem to go for in general.
Why does a bodyguard need to withstand being hit in the face with a bat ?
That's not going to happen in real life. Why do they need to be able to jump out of the way of knifes ? I'd imagine the whole point is that you might have to jump IN the way of a knife.
If I were a head of state, I'd prefer to have some protecting me, who can recontaire a crowd, have some sort of situational awareness and planning, and be smart enough to know that the chances of me being hit by a brick or a flying dagger acutally pale in comparison to a someone bombing me or shooting me with a sniper rifle from 600m.
It's not training, but rather it's just macho bravado that wouldn't be of any use at all in a real situation I'd imagine. |

It doesn't matter what training one has or what martial arts they might be good at......a bullet will win every time. Thousands of dead heros over the years could attest to that. |

That performance at the end looked very impressive. Wish I could see the whole thing. |

Really amazing stuff. Even the mural they have in the background that constantly changes. Just imagine the meticulous planning and coordination that requires. Wow. |

It is amazing. The idea that several thousand people are standing there holding up coloured boards to form giant changing pictures boggles the mind. I wish I could see it in person. A trip there is seeming less and less likely lately |
