I was surfing through wikipedia.org when I saw this.

Quote:
Tablo (Sun Wong Yi). Born on July 22, 1980. Attended: Stanford University in Califonia, USA.

Epik Hish is the best hip-hop group in Korean Music World. Their uncontrolable beat and rhythm is famous. Tablo was a big Hip-Hop fan ever since he could remember, listening to old Run-DMC and Cold Crush tapes and always rhyming around the way in South Korea. But there was one emcee who inspired him to take it seriously. After he heard Drunken Tiger rapping, he became part of a group called Epik High in 2000 and also claimed to be the first emcee to invent the rhyming rifle. In the fickle world of Hip-Hop, Tablo kept his name alive over the years by doing shows and various cameos with the EPMD.

"Verbally intelligent" -Drunken Tigers-

I couldn't read any further. It was too painful.

So how does garbage like this get on wikipedia, and what can be done about it?

By the way, I'm not suggesting that a teenaged Korean netizen wrote it. Oh, no. Not at all.

It reads like a (bad) press release from an agent.

My first impulse was to direct you to wikipedia for the answer. Which is actually the best place to find the answer - they (we) are aware of this problem. Basically, don't automatically trust anything you read on wikipedia. If you see something incorrect or inappropriate, correct it yourself. Pages that get a lot of vandalism are unable to be edited except by established registered users, or may be locked completely, etc.

Why not fix that hip-hop article yourself, if you think it's so bad? (though getting into an editing battle with teenage hip-hop fans is probably a waste of time.

Professors HATE it when students cite wikipedia. It is user-editted. Think about half the U.S. re-electing Bush in 2004. Think about trusting them to know the facts on wikipedia.

Saving a screenshot as a png will remove the fuzziness you get around the letters.

Back to Wikipedia, the best articles look like this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pericles

160 sources or so for that page.

Anyone who wants to trust anything 100% because it's written down deserves to get their information wrong.

Red:

For the same reason that I don't pick up dog poo when I see it on the street: I don't feel like cleaning up someone else's mess. I know, I know, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem, etc.
Also, I'm no expert on Korean hip-hop, nor do I want to be. It'd be like getting a Master's degree in Comparative Sasquatch Studies.

Green:

You said it yourself. I've got better things to do with my time that e-arguing with a bunch of adolescent netizens.

Before it got re-edited:

One thing that people don't know about Tablo is that he is actually an 23rd level warlock, capable of casting innumerable spells upon his enemies. He did a 2-year stint in a Seoul prison for turning his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend into a squirrel. When asked to comment, all Tablo could say was "B1tch flipped on my style, yo."

Tablo is also well known for his writing contributions to MC Mong and his frequent appearances on Gag Concert, a Korean comedy show. Audiences thrilled at his trademark, incredulous "muoowwwyehyooo?!?" with a large mouthful of ramyun when witnessing the shenanigans of his wacky half-canine sidekick, TtoongTtoong.

"Verbally intelligent" -Drunken Tigers- "I got him to clean my windows once" -Kim Dae Jung- "Who the f`'k is THIS kid, get his @ss out of my office!" -DJ Premier- "Oh, he make cheeseburger very nicely, so kind, when I in the McDonalds.*^^*" -Kwan Soo-Min, Ewha University student

Wait a minute, if I recall my Dungeons & Dragons Players' Manual TM correctly, the highest level possible for a mage is 18th.
