Just wanted my first post to be in a cool thread about being gay in S. Korea; instead of the usual newbie "why do they eat Sparky?" post. I apologize for the idiotic title, just wanted to say hi to everyone. Folks that haven't been there for awhile or purposely post misleading disinformation-please kindly f off. I've decided there's maybe more to life than pickup trucks, guns, (ding, ding, ding, yes-another damn Yank) and indoor plumbing; dusted off my BA and will be on the job hunt soon to teach conversational English. Please God forgive me.

I'll buy the first round of Hite stout, but you have to show me to the norabang(sp?) and sit through my rendition of Folsom Prison Blues.

It's not that bad - it's just overwrought 'hay guys am I making a good impression with my first post' newbie humour. He'll grow out of it.

What I want to know is: what is the point of the thread? What are we supposed to be posting? Is he looking for men to have sex with? What's going on?

When I was researching the retail price of a bottle of Guinness in Seoul, comparing it to the $1.25 I can get it here before buying a plane ticket; maybe my priorities in considering a change in "career" are a bit skewed. Anyway, nice to meet you all, and thanks for the admirable self-restraint in a potential newbie flame-fest.

billybrobby-call me pop culturally ignorant, but just who the hell is that in your avatar?

I saw a video at a porn store once called "Gilligan's Bi-land" I think you will like the metrosexuals here OP. PM a user named Spinoza for things that gay people like to do in Korea.

OK...OK. Enough with the "ghey"...please. I'm sure it's all intended to be helpful, but I'm not a bonafide homosexual. It was just a stupid way to say hello to people on the forum. I was basically looking for a way to get invited to "Weekender" parties to get drunk on good free beer and get in arguments over the philosophical meaning of the movie "Trainspotting." I apologize for any misunderstandings.

EDIT: I also wanted to apologize for some of my fellow countrymen that come on the boards, spouting evangelical and right-wing xenophobic nonsense. I seriously doubt some of these "posters" are actually overseas, and if they are...HOLY CRAP. These nuts really have gainful employment and the ROK is really that desperate for native speakers?
