It's the site for the (North) Korean Central News Agency
http://www.kcna.co.jp/
I've come across the PC bang porno blocker before, but this is the first time I've run up against government censorship on the Korean internet. I guess some of you already know about this. I've only recently become interested in NK since they got themselves a shiny new bomb. They're like that nerd you always ignored until he came driving by in a b*tchin' mustang. |

I didn't have any problem linking directly to it and the stories - no workaround required.
A brief selection, posted on Oct 9 and 10 (day of and after test):
Floral Basket to DPRK Embassy in Havana
Havana, October 6 (KCNA) -- General Raul Castro Ruz, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, sent a floral basket to the DPRK embassy in Havana on Oct. 5 on the occasion of the 61st founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.
S. Korean Security Authorities' Plot under Fire Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Jang Song Hoe, chairman of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), reportedly released a statement titled "We strongly denounce the security authorities for plotting to fabricate a 'case of off-stage organizing Hanchongryon'" on October 2. The statement recalled that it was disclosed at the trial of Choe Hui Jong, permanent member of the "south Korean Civil Rights Institute", on September 26 that the security authorities made a surprise search of his house and detained him under a scenario for rigging up the "case of off-stage organizing Hanchongryon."
Expressing indignation at the moves of the security authorities to fabricate the case, talking about the non-existent "forces wire-pulling Hanchongryon," the statement demanded the security authorities immediately stop their anachronistic plot.
The activities of Hanchongryon, an independent organization of students, are just, the statement said, urging the security authorities to withdraw the label of "enemy-benefiting organization" from Hanchongryon and legalize the organization.
Important Days in DPRK Observed Abroad
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Lectures were given in Democratic Congo and Uganda and by the Pan-African Movement from September 25 to 28 on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 80th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). The deputy general secretary of the People's Rally for Socialism of Democratic Congo, in a lecture titled "The Workers' Party of Korea dynamically advancing along the road paved by the DIU" said that President Kim Il Sung formed the DIU, providing the historic roots of the WPK. The President founded the party before anything else after Korea's liberation and developed it into invincible militant ranks, he added.
Justin Keyune, chief of the Group for the Study of Songun Politics of Kampala Coloro Higher Middle School of Uganda, in a lecture titled "The eternal party of President Kim Il Sung" highly praised the feats the President performed for building the party, stressing that the WPK would always demonstrate its might as the dignified party of the President as it is led by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
The deputy director of the Political Department of the Pan-African Movement, in a lecture titled "The reliable vanguard of the socialist cause" noted that the WPK is recognized by the international community as an invincible party, the most authoritative and dignified party for the feats it performed for the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence.
DPRK Successfully Conducts Underground Nuclear Test
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The Korean Central News Agency released the following report: The field of scientific research in the DPRK successfully conducted an underground nuclear test under secure conditions on October 9, Juche 95 (2006) at a stirring time when all the people of the country are making a great leap forward in the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation.
It has been confirmed that there was no such danger as radioactive emission in the course of the nuclear test as it was carried out under a scientific consideration and careful calculation.
The nuclear test was conducted with indigenous wisdom and technology 100 percent. It marks a historic event as it greatly encouraged and pleased the KPA and people that have wished to have powerful self-reliant defence capability.
It will contribute to defending the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the area around it.
S. Korean Army Commits Grave Military Provocation Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The south Korean army committed a grave military provocation in a forefront area on Oct. 7, according to a military source. At around 12:30 that day south Korean troops entrenched at the MP post near Marker of the Military Demarcation Line No. 0815 in the central sector of the front fired at least 60 12.7 mm caliber machine-gun bullets at servicemen of the Korean People's Army on a routine military duty in the area of the DPRK on the opposite side.
This reckless military provocation perpetrated in broad daylight seriously threatened the lives of KPA servicemen.
This is a blatant challenge to the DPRK and an unpardonable military provocation against it.
This incident did not develop into a military conflict between both sides thanks to the KPA's exercise of high degree of patience and self-restraint.
The south Korean military authorities would be well advised to stop running amuck, pondering over the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by any provocative act in the forefront area where forces of both sides are standing in acute confrontation.
Commemorative Stamps Issued
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Commemorative stamps (a kind of souvenir sheet and a stamp) have been brought out in the DPRK on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). In order to open up a new way for revolution in the darkest period of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea, President Kim Il Sung conceived a plan to form a revolutionary vanguard organization that would conduct the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle in reliance upon popular masses with a correct fighting program and organized the DIU on October 17, Juche 15 (1926).
The stamps give such words as "Commemoration of 80th Anniversary of Down-with-Imperialism Union" and "Juche 15 (1926), Juche 95 (2006)".
Printed in the center of the souvenir sheet is an image of the President in his early years of revolutionary activities, flanked by photographs showing his early revolutionary activities.
Reflected in the individual stamp are a red flag bearing the words "DIU" and Mt. Paektu, the sacred mountain of revolution. It shows the unswerving faith and will of the Korean people to carry out the revolutionary cause of Juche under the red flag of the revolution raised by the DIU.
Monument to Party Founding Visited by People
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- An increasing number of working people and school youth and children visit the Monument to Party Founding in October with the birth anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (October 10) approaching. Seen among them are overseas Koreans and foreigners.
The visitors to the monument have totaled more than 3,550,000 since it was unveiled in October 1995. Out of them are nearly 200,000 overseas Koreans and foreign friends.
Being briefed about the monument that conveys the glorious history of the WPK's founding, the visitors look round with interest the monument built in a unique architectural aesthetic form.
Looking back with deep emotion on the history of the ever-victorious WPK founded by President Kim Il Sung and led by Kim Jong Il, they deepen their reverence for the peerlessly great men and laud their immortal revolutionary exploits.
In September last a delegation of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) headed by Harpal Brar, chairman of its Central Committee, visited the monument. Then the chairman said that the monument would long convey the exploits performed by the President in the Party-building and the WPK had been developed as an invincible one under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Dangerous U.S. Moves to Force "Preemptive Strike Strategy" Debunked
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- The U.S. war-thirsty forces are these days stooping to a plan to establish what they call Korean Peninsula air battle command which would perform a U.S. air force strike mission under the U.S. Pacific Command when they provoke a Korean war. Synchronizing with this, the U.S. Defense Department announced that the U.S. would sell a "patriot" missile system worth 1.5 billion U.S. dollars to south Korea. Commenting on this, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Thursday says:
This is a highly dangerous scheme on the part of the United States to gain "upper hand in strength" and force its "preemptive strike strategy" at whatever cost. This testifies that they have made the provocation of the second Korean war a fait accompli.
Pentagon has already reorganized the U.S. 8th army in south Korea and the 3rd army in the U.S. mainland into a field army and rounded off an integrated operational command system over the large forces of the U.S., Japan and south Korea. The establishment of the new Korean Peninsula air battle command of the U.S. means, in the final analysis, that not only the U.S. air force in the Asia-Pacific region but also its air force in the mainland will take part in the operations of this command.
The projected establishment of the command is intended to boost the preemptive strike capacity of the U.S. air forces in preparation for a war of aggression against the DPRK. Linked with it is the decision to sell a vast "patriot" missile system to south Korea.
The establishment of the afore-said command is, immediately that of an air commanding body for a "preemptive attack" on the DPRK. This scheme is a patent proof that the Korean war scenario of the U.S. imperialists has entered a practical stage.
If the dangerous military strategy of the U.S. is pushed ahead, it will destroy the military strategic balance and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region and add fuel to the arms race and military confrontation among the countries interested in this area strategically.
Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Venezuela
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il's famous work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification" was brought out in booklet on September 28 by the Cantaclara Publishing House in Venezuela. The work published on August 4, Juche 86 (1997) deals with the undying feats President Kim Il Sung performed for the cause of national reunification, clarifies the three charters for national reunification and indicates tasks to be tackled to accomplish the cause of national reunification on the basis of the charters and ways to do so.
Important Days of DPRK Observed
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Lectures and reading sessions took place in Mongolia, India, South Africa, Democratic Congo, Ethiopia and Uganda from Sept. 25 to Oct. 4 on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 80th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). On display in the venues of the events were the photographs showing the feats President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il performed in party building.
The chairman of the Center for the Study of the Juche Idea of Mongolian Chinggis Khan College noted in a lecture that the DIU formed by the President became the historical roots of the WPK, referring in detail to the glorious history of struggle of the WPK which inherited the tradition of the DIU.
The chairman of the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung said in a lecture that the WPK has grown stronger to be an experienced party which formed an integral whole of the leader, the party and the masses under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, adding that the Korean people advancing true to his Songun policy would reach the high eminence of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation despite all sorts of difficulties and ordeals.
The secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party and the deputy general secretary of the People's Rally for Socialism of Democratic Congo at a lecture and reading session praised Kim Jong Il for having developed the WPK into a guiding force for the revolutionary cause of Songun.
Papers on Danger of "Reorganization" of U.S. Forces in S. Korea. Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Newspapers here today term the U.S. moves to "reorganize" its forces in south Korea a dangerous adventure as it disturbs peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and drives the situation to catastrophe. What the U.S. seeks through this is to increase the capability of its armed forces to carry out war actions against the DPRK and arm the south Korean army with heavy and advanced weapons by stepping up their "reorganization" under the signboard of "transfer of the right to command wartime operations" and thus use it as a shock force in a second Korean war.
Rodong Sinmun observes this in a commentary.
The "reorganization" of the U.S. forces in south Korea is escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula while increasing the danger of another war, the commentary says, and goes on:
Despite this grave situation, the south Korean war-like forces are busy with arms buildup and north-targeted war exercises, joining the U.S. in its moves to invade the DPRK. Such actions can never be pardoned as they are acts of treachery going against the June 15 joint declaration and bringing the inter-Korean relations to the brink of war.
They are bound to be sternly punished by history and the nation for such wrongdoings.
If the U.S. ignites a war against the DPRK, it will suffer a bitter defeat. The U.S. should make a radical switchover in its anachronistic Korea policy and pull all its aggression forces out of south Korea and its vicinity, urges Minju Joson in a commentary.
More Rare Animals in Central Zoo
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Rare animals are growing in number in the Central Zoo in Pyongyang. Kim Jong Il, who always pays a deep attention to the cultural and emotional life of the people, has sent some 1,000 rare animals of tens of species including pigeons, parrots, wild ducks and white bears to the Central Zoo in recent years.
Researchers and keepers of the zoo are trying to acclimatize the animals to the local climate in a scientific and technological way, thus increasing them in number.
Lemur catta native to the southern part of Madagascar brought forth nine kitties, following Equus przewalskii of Mongolia, a reserve animal, and Grus japonensis.
Kim Jong Il was presented with a pair of Jindo dogs by Kim Dae Jung of south Korea in the days of their historic Pyongyang Meeting at the end of which the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration was made public. The dogs begot four puppies in early June this year, which total 40 over the last six years.
Lama Guanicoe sheep sent to the zoo by south Korea also gave a birth to a lamb at the end of the last year.
The Central Zoo is always congested with visitors.
U.S. Violation of Human Rights Flailed
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- U.S. Congress recently adopted an act on dealing with "suspects in terrorism," which is an outright challenge to the world community demanding a halt to the encroachment upon the rights of prisoners. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed commentary.
The adoption of the act is a criminal document legalizing the GIs' violations of human rights as evidenced by its clauses, the news analyst notes, and goes on:
This act allows any military trial of "suspected terrorists" even in the absence of clear evidence and any practices to wrest testimonies from them by force. In particular, it does not call for taking any legal action against those who abuse human rights in the course of torturing and interrogating "suspected terrorists."
It is not hard to guess what the U.S. has sought in the adoption of such highhanded act. Through this the U.S. seeks to justify and incite its imperialist aggression forces' human rights abuses and punish a great many innocent people on charges of being "suspected terrorists" in a bid to whip up an atmosphere of terror in the international community. Their ulterior motive is to escalate the "war on terrorism" to realize its design for world domination.
The U.S. desperate efforts to attain its aims for aggression and domination through such act will only reveal its true colors as the world's worst abuser of human rights and invite its international isolation and worldwide condemnation.
Its arbitrary and highhanded practices are the root cause of wrecking global peace and stability and challenging international justice.
Important Days of DPRK Observed
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- Diverse events including a friendly meeting, a film show and a photo exhibition were held in Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Congo and Singapore from September 22 to October 5 on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 80th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union. The vice-chairman of the National Democratic Party of Egypt, addressing the friendly meeting, said that the Songun policy pursued by Kim Jong Il is the unique, powerful and ideal one, stressing that under his leadership the WPK and the Korean people would register greater victory in the future, too.
The manager of a Singaporean company, after watching a DPRK film, said that he was deeply impressed by the great and wise leadership ability of Kim Jong Il and the might of the single-minded unity of all the people around him. He noted that Kim Jong Il is the great man steering the politics of the 21st century.
Fascist Crackdown on Trade Union in S. Korea Flailed
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- The south Korean judicial authorities recently let loose the fascist police to close down offices of the "National Government Employees' Union" (NGEU) and took several dozen hardcore members of the union to custody under the cloak of "forcible execution of administrative right," branding the union as an illegal organization and charging it with such "illegal acts" as opposition to south Korea-U.S. joint military exercises. Hitting hard at it as an unpardonable fascist repression trampling upon the freedom of association and right to progressive activities of the south Korean government employees with the use of violence, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Friday says:
The union is an organization of progressive movement formed with upwards of 140,000 government employees to defend their democratic freedom and rights to existence. Their activities can in no case be illegal as they fully meet the demands of the south Korean society and the era.
The fascist crackdown on it by the south Korean authorities cannot be pardoned in any way, being a downright challenge to the desire of the south Korean people for independence and the progressive trend of the times. Such fascist clampdown will only lead them to destruction.
The south Korean authorities should promptly stop the fascist suppression and immediately release the union members under arrest, looking straight into the trend of the times.
Russia Offers Food to DPRK
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- The food which is to be provided to the DPRK by the Russian government as humanitarian aid material through the WFP has arrived at Nampho Port. A presentation ceremony was held on the spot on Oct. 13.
Present there were officials of the Ministry of Food Procurement and Administration and other officials concerned and the Russian ambassador to the DPRK, the representative of the WFP and officials of the Russian Ministry of Civil Defence, Extraordinary Situation and Elimination of Aftermaths of Natural Calamities staying here.

KCNA Ridicules U.S. Futile Waste of Money
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- The United States decided to annually offer a million U.S. dollars in financial aid to the non-governmental "human rights" organizations in south Korea which specialize in anti-DPRK broadcasting service. This is part of the U.S. hostile moves to destroy the socialist system chosen by the Korean people themselves by tarnishing the image of the DPRK and pressurizing it to bring about a "change" by every possible means and method.
It is the U.S. trite method to use its propaganda machines for hurting the dignity of those countries which stand in the way of attaining its aims or forcing them to effect "changes".
In the past period, the U.S. used broadcasting media and publications as leverage for stepping up its interference in the internal affairs of many countries and precipitating their collapse.
It is still widely using those media for spreading American-style "freedom" and "democracy" all over the world in a bid to create illusion about the U.S. and spark political conflict and instability, confusion and disorder in other countries. It is also setting in motion those media to float information to be used as pretexts for interfering in politics, culture, economy and other internal affairs of those countries that court its displeasure and spread misinformation about them.
The U.S. is now hatching every conceivable plot to bring down the DPRK, while directing the spearhead of attack against it.
Its hostile policy toward the DPRK has gone beyond the tolerance limit and a dangerous atmosphere of confrontation reminiscent of that on the eve of war is now prevailing on the Korean Peninsula.
It is against this backdrop that the U.S. is escalating its financial sanctions against the DPRK worldwide while being busy spreading sheer lies in a bid to intensify its operations to destabilize the DPRK as evidenced by the reinforced operation of "Voice of Free Asia."
Even foreign public opinion commented that such sharp increase in funding as the recent action is an indication that "it is aimed to lead north Koreans to bring about a substantial change in their consciousness".
It is foolish of the U.S. to escalate its anti-DPRK moves even offering a large amount of money to betrayers of the nation hell-bent on slandering their fellow countrymen and fanning up confrontation.
The above-said plots and smear campaign of those forces hostile towards the DPRK are nothing but the last-ditch efforts of those who know nothing of the DPRK where the leader, the party and the people form a harmonious whole.
The U.S. would be sadly mistaken if it calculates it can break any moment the Korean people's unity in political and ideological aspects and in the sense of moral obligation, the unity that was achieved and has grown strong through their practical experience.
The U.S. financial support to the anti-DPRK broadcasting services would get it nowhere.

Yeah, i just used anonymouse to get by the blocking in 2 seconds, but it's disturbing.
I think they have a Spanish section because Cuba is one of the few countries that has good relations with them. That's right, you can follow a line from the sexy, dashing Che Guevara to the fat, repugnant Kim Jong Il.
The articles are great though. They seem to have a whole section devoted to floral baskets. |
