The Korean Animal Protection Society located in Daegu is always in need of donations. They are currently housing 100+ cats and a comparable number of dogs. It is the only place of it's kind in Seoul. I will be going there this weekend and will happily take things for the animals with me. Please consider giving the following things: dog/cat food, cat litter, toys, dog collars/leashes, brushes, etc. Or help KAPS reduce the pet population by sponsoring a spay/neuter. A donation of 50,000 won will spay/neuter a cat or dog at the shelter. Their website is: www.koreananimals.org/
Please contact me for more information.

Please refrain from posting your favorite dog/cat meat recipes here. Not really appropriate, don't you think? |

| Hi Sommer, do you know how close KAPS is to being able to open up their new facility in Cheonan? They've been planning it for years, and it's supposed to include a new spay/neuter clinic. Getting that clinic up and running would be a huge step toward solving the homeless animal crisis. |

| I guess I may donate again in a while (I have in the past but not recently) ... but I'm in Japan right now and really have to watch my money. I've also made a big financial commitment to a cat in the Philippines and I'm quite worried about that situation because I don't know how much his bills will eventually come to. For now, all I can do is wish you well ... but if you have an update about the spay/neuter clinic I'd be happy to hear it. |

Thanks so much for the support. I will have more information about the clinic after I visit this weekend.
Best wishes,

| Let's keep this thread on topic please. If you need a reminder, it was about giving donations to an animal shelter. |

jjurabong,
The KAPS website has a donation page: http://www.koreananimals.org/donationform.htm so you can donate online. The mail-in donation info seems to be geared toward the US. Some of their free publications also have a bank account number on the back. I've lost that info, but you can contact the KAPS shelter directly for it. Their contact info is at http://www.koreananimals.org/help.htm#contact
Maybe the OP has another idea. Hope that helps!
