More Aeroplan options will cost you

On Jan. 1, 2007, Aeroplan will be date-stamping miles with an expiry point of seven years from the accumulation day. Any miles collected before then will be date-stamped Dec. 31, 2007. |

Aeroplan also said that by July 1, 2007, it will require members to have some activity on their account in the previous 12 months - the accumulation or redemption of at least one mile - or the account will be considered expired. |
My first quote is bad enough. Suddenly, we have to use what we have saved up by next year. That's not really a lot of time. The second one is what is going to make me tell them to shove it up their butts. Only one year. There are most definitely times when I don't use it within a year. I could see a couple or more years, but one year! I can't even use Star Alliance all the time as they don't fly places or the tickets cost too much. Anyways, I don't like that. One of the few reasons I flew Air Canada was for the points. I guess not anymore. I would gladly pay an extra hundred and fly on any airline that isn't Air Canada |

join up to the singapore card. Still part of the Star alliance but a lot more generous with their points. |

If only I had the choice.... We get to pay Air Canada prices and get shoved on their discount line Jazz... But lets not get taking about AC, it ruins my day. |
