#1 Some days Park (48), a department manager with a foreign firm, doesnt feel like going to the office: he not only has to handle stress from his bosses but grief from his subordinates too. They are so rude; they are so forceful. They go home at exactly 6 p.m. and are terribly demanding about overtime and vacation. When they perform well, they get big-headed and show their elders no respect at all. Whats worse, others are neither competent nor care how they do their jobs.

#2 On paper, Lee (35), a team leader with a small company looks perfect: His team is doing excellent and he is being promoted faster than his peers. But one thing disturbs him: his distinguished juniors. He, too, was once one of them: brash with his elders when he just entered the company. Now he cant deal with his own juniors, who are even more rude than he was. When he asks them to go for a drink after work, they always say no. When he asks them to work overtime, they immediately get huffy. He is tired of currying favor with them.

...

So bosses have to think hard about themselves as the recruitment season starts. How to stay on top of things? Here, Choe Jung-a, president of Interlink Search and a headhunter for 16 years, Kim Han-seok, CEO of IBK Consulting Group, and Ahn Eun-young, author of the White Paper on Womens Life" offer 10 technique to help the harassed manager.

Come on, I know some of you are guilty of harassing your boss. Leaving right on time? Not bowing submissively when the boss barks at you? Not wanting to work overtime? Demanding vacation time???

You really have to feel bad for the average Korean manager. It must suck ass to have worked your way up the corporate ladder, putting up with sade all the time, and then suddenly be confronted with a legion of young, slick punks who won't accept the same from you.

Just imagine being Mr. Park from scenario #1. Those gd foreigners must really be a pain to work with.

So.. what is Chosun's suggested solution? Please see below.

That's right, it's the ddongchim! Give it to those insubordinate subordinates where it hurts the most.

(apologies to D. Phobe if having read "ass" and "gd" causes you to lose sleep tonight.)

I'd put up with Sade all the goddamn week, if you know what I mean. Well, maybe not her music...

That article epitomized unintentional comedy.
